crown: dark chestnut brown hair hangs in loose curls just below his ears and above his shoulders. it is typically at least a little untidy and unbrushed, being mostly combed by anxious fingers and otherwise quite neglected. it is long enough to tie back, but only just.
visage: deep blue eyes the color of the sea, sometimes dark, but often bright, look past physical appearance and seem to stare into the depths of your soul. he has a habit of staring unabashedly and is seldom the one to look away first. shadows cling in the hollow places beneath a swath of full lashes. a few light freckles cross over the shallow bridge of his nose and alight on the high rosy crests of his cheekbones. cupids bow, pink full lips that smile often, accompanied by familiar lines about them. delicate but shapely jaw, with a clefted chin.
frame: narrow shoulders, which have not been brought up under toil, hunched forwards during times of stress, more often thrown back in poised posture, as one disciplined in both writing and walking. standing at an admirable three foot and six inches, taller than most (hobbits.) where once he had begun to grow wide, now only a bit of softness remains.
hands & feet: fingers worn and nails bitten down to the quick, bearing the brunt of anxieties and helpless feelings. often stained with ink. calloused namely at the joints, especially on the right hand, where the middle finger is entirely missing down to the knuckle. large feet for his size, but not for his people, covered over the top and across the toes with thick curly hair much like that on his head. the soles are worn and leathery thick. the nails are trimmed.
nethers: soft curly brown hair sits atop the mound and covers the lips from easy sight. in typical hobbit fashion, there is plenty of hair, which goes up a little to a small navel patch, then travels down to cover thighs and legs with a modest covering of fur. distinguishing marks: a small gap between the two front teeth. a little group of distinguished freckles beneath the right eye, like a constellation of stars. more freckles appear the further you go, with most occuring over the back across his shoulder blades.
