unusual  for  HIM,  considering  his  chipper  personality.  staring  off  into  space,  lost  in  the  clouds,  eyes  glazed  over.  routine  conversations  and  questions  of  nothing  ( ‘ what  are  you  learning  at  the  moment ? ’  ‘ where  do  you  think  ink  comes  from  in  the  pen ? '   ‘ are  you  still  afraid  of  mice ? ’ ),  never  came,  although  the  time  dwindled  down  continuously  until  he  would  be  forced  to  leave.
