The bathroom door was locked, Arnold stared at himself hard in the mirror, comparing himself visually to his brother. Mentally ticking off their differences- there weren't many, and that was proving to be more and more of a problem as they got older.
He frowned, setting his bandanna down on the sink counter, hand moving over to nervously finger a set of siccors he'd carried into the bathroom with him.
He was the older brother, even if only by five minutes, it was his job to make sure Casey had the best in life- even if that meant sacrifice on his side.
With steeled resolve, Arnie grabbed a hair tie and put his long locks into a tight pony tail, hands shaking with the nervous rush that came. Holding the loose ends taut, he picked the scissors up, hazel and blue eyes watching the mirror.
And then the soft crunch of metal slicing through hair could be heard.
Arnold dropped the six inches of black into the bin, hair tie and all, and set the siccors down. His stomach turned as he took hold of their dad's electric clippers, flicking it on with a quiet buzz.
He was scared, but continued on with the task- trying to evenly trim his head best he could.
After twenty minutes of fighting with himself, Arnold finally finished, turning the clippers off. He met his own gaze once more, staring at the high top cut. He'd left enough hair on top that it fell in his face, splitting at an offset angle.
It wasn't too awful. No.
He'd grow accustomed to it over time, maybe even learn to love the new style. Even so, Arnold would miss his soft black hair, but this way....
This way, it would be easier to tell them apart from a distance.
And that's what he wanted.

[[ me; what if I kept on developing Arnie as his own character.
Me; ....... Slowly starts to mutate his genes over time due to exposure cus he likes to sit in on Donnie/Nico's experiments like an annoying butt. Its nothing huge like April or Karai, but his platelette disorder and allergies start to dissipate as his DNA changes.
Me @ my own concept; but why are you doing this to him?
Me @ me; you know why bench shut up and enjoy it
[[ been headcanoning stuff for Arnold to make him different from Casey in the twinverse
The actual differences between my Casey and @dxmnmxtal 's Casey apply to Arnie- cheese puff allergy, rat/rodent allergy, love of Oprah, and working at a movie theater concession stand
Arnold and Casey are Mirror Twins- with Arnie having the mirrored organs and being left handed
He's pretty sickly, with a platelette disorder that causes him to bruise extremely easy.
Arnie is the older twin.
The heterochromia in his eyes is very distinguishable between the two of them as well
Arnold is a bit softer than Casey in personality, and just a little more soft spoken- not a lot though, but enough to notice
