Amaranth couldn't help the grimace that spread across her face watching as Cerulean prepared his meal; eyes of the same name shifting back and forth as juice from the shellfish splashed across the tablecloth with each crack. She didn't appreciate having her family's business circulating through the different social circles of Mistral, nor did she like having it shoved into her face when she was already anxious about the failing health of her husband. Particularly when this man stunk of new money. The Menenius bloodline was old, tracing back to long before the Great War, where they had established themselves in Anima as great designers and creators. Her own family tree, the Althann's of Atlas, were just as ancient. It was an honorable match made, one that reflected Solitas' and Anima's partnership in the Great War. Aligning a child of Aurelia's pedigree with such a family could be seen in poor taste. An embarrassment.
However, she considered his proposal, picking up her bubbling flute of champagne and swirling it for a moment before bringing it to her lips. It was a tempting offer. Even in all of her fits of passion, it was unlikely Aurelia would ever take up the mantle of their family's legacy without some pushing and preening. No matter how hard she had tried to turn her daughter in a proper young lady, she continued to be a demanding and fiery spirit; which would likely only be encouraged by that brothers' forsaken Huntsman school. If she could go back and change anything, she would go back every single day, and stand her ground against letting her attend Haven. But what was done was done, and the last thing Amaranth Menenius would do, was go back on her word.
"Suppose I did say yes to allowing you to take my daughters' hand," She mused, picking up her fork and gently spearing the golden crusted filet on her own plate, the crimson myoglobin pooling as the knife easily sliced through, "how am I to guarantee you will steer my family's legacy in the correct direction? Forgive me for saying but, it seems you may lack...experience, in this kind of position. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Krome family is a newly established title in Argus?"

What is your character’s full name?
↳ Marlene Órfhlaith McKinnon
When were they born?
↳ April 10th, 1960 at 4am
What are their parent’s names?
↳ Alistair and Fallon McKinnon
Do they have any brothers or sisters?
↳ Four brothers ( Cillian, Darius, Kieran, Rolland ) && one sister-in-law ( Alessia, married to Kieran )
What kind of eyes do they have?
↳ Bright eyes, green - as if the Irish coast was captured within them - that express emotion in an undeniable way. Her thoughts are clear in them, and seem to have a smile of their own.
What kind of hair do they have?
↳ Long hair that tumbles down her back in reckless waves; blonde, or sometimes brown, that changes according to Marlene’s whim. ( She dislikes potions, but coloring ones are the exception. )
What is their complexion like?
↳ Pale, a result of the sun rarely peeking out from behind thick cloud coverage; clear and bright, just like her eyes.
What body type are they?
↳ Slim and lean, though it couldn’t be considered muscular, with her torso being slightly longer that average. She’s familiar enough with her body to move with an easy grace.
What is listening to their voice like?
↳ High and lilted, as if just hearing her speak was like listening to a song. However, she commonly has sore throats - she tends to talk quite loudly - and it causes her voice to have a coarse edge to it.
Do they have a favorite quote?
↳ “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, Live the life you’ve always imagined.”
- Henry David Thoreau
What sort of music do they enjoy?
↳ Rock, alternative rock - she’s definitely a big fan of The Beatles, The Who, Led Zepplin, etc. Marlene has never been particularly concerned with learning about muggle things, but she knows just about everything about vinyl records and the current bands.
Have they ever cheated on a partner?
↳ Marlene has rarely let relationships last very long - the longest was three months and ended with the admission of three little words - but she’s faithful in them for the duration of it.
Have they ever lost someone close to them?
↳ Marlene was fairly close to her paternal grandfather, who passed away the summer before her fifth year. She was devastated, but found comfort in the knowledge that he had lived a long, happy life.
What is their favorite sound?
↳ Laughter, no matter whose voice its in. The sound is happy, bright; it makes her feel hopeful in a way.
What is their opinion on euthanasia?
↳ Marlene is firmly against murder, in any shape, way, or form. (She’s very much taken up rising ‘hippie’ ideals. She’s attempted to be vegetarian, but it’ll last all of two weeks.) However, if the person begs for it, their wish deserves to be respected.
Are they judgmental of others?
↳ Marlene has an astute eye for emotions in others, and therefore judges what she sees. More often than not, she’ll bring it up in a conversation and clear it up in case she’d gotten something wrong.
Have they ever been drunk?
↳ Most weekends - and even school nights - are spent in crowded, smoke-filled rooms with a bottle of whiskey in one hand. She’s the life of the party and makes a point to attend every one.
What are they like when they stay up all night?
↳ Marlene loves sleep, so skipping a night or even getting less than four hours will put her in a zombie-like state for the rest of the day.
Have they ever been arrested?
↳ Once - she was with Darius, wandering around London where he lived. She thinks the whole thing was quite funny; muggles take their alcohol laws far too seriously.
What color evokes strong memories for them?
↳ Green. Green like the churning Irish waters, like the sprawling fields of Hogwarts, like chipping paint on her family home.
What do they do on rainy days?
↳ She goes on adventures with whoever happens to be closest. She’ll wonder what the Forbidden Forest looks like bathed in water droplets, or if the octopus has been stirred by the pat, pat, pat of the rain.
What is their stance on blood purity?
↳ Although she’s a pureblood, blood status means very little to her. They’re all magical, and she’s known muggle borns to be more powerful that those more pure. Skills matters, determination matters. What bearing does blood have over talent?
What word do they overuse the most?
↳ “Sick” and “rad” are two she’s been using more often lately. Muggle slang makes her laugh, so she’s taken it up.
What do they wear to bed?
↳ She wears a stolen jumper from a brother - she’s had it for so long, she’s not actually sure whose is was - and a pair of boxers from a one night stand. So, basically, stolen clothing.
Do they have any tattoos or piercings?
↳ Over the past summer, Darius and Kieran were wandering around London with her, when she convinced them to let her get a tattoo. It reads “choose life” along her bicep. She has no piercings, since she’s found they require much more maintenance than she’s willing to commit to.
What type of clothing are they most comfortable in?
↳ Marlene can be usually seen in loose cut-off shorts, and old t-shirts, or sometimes in flowing floral dresses. Her uniform, contrary to what might be believed, is kept in neat order while classes are in session, although her tie is always kept loose around her neck.
What is their most disliked saying?
↳ Anything about deception, about defeating enemies.
Do they have any enemies?
↳ Marlene may be a social butterfly, but even she has her limits. She’s been known to start verbal altercations in the halls, to even throw a hex or two when someone pushes her too far. And when someone makes her “Shit List”, they’re there forever.
What does their writing look like?
↳ Above title is her signature.
What disgusts them?
↳ Grapes, the thick scent of expensive cigars, mistreatment of house elves and magical creatures, blood purity ideals, high heeled shoes, long days of boring work.
