“You can stop squeezing my hand so much unless you wanna add that to my broken bones count.” sleepy sleep boy, he just wants Katsuki to lay down with him and goes to try and tug him into the bed carefully. “Got a little distracted and ended up having a concrete wall slam down onto my leg.....will you lay down with me...?”
the summer izuku died wip that i will probably never finish but i rly like how i drew dekus two fingers and thumb
Pre-med was, in and of itself, the biggest task that Midoriya Izuku has ever endured. It took more than it’s fair share of sleepless nights, of curly hairs and long, winded showers to relieve himself of the stress - but in order to become the hero he’d always dreamed of being, to save lives and be proud about it, he had to stay true to the path. His determination is only eclipsed by his studious attitude, often spending long nights figuring out the right equations or looking up different symptoms for a disease. It would all be worth it in the long run, he’d tell himself, and it’d work each and every time.
Through the copious amounts of viruses and medical terms one word had always stayed with him each and every day. Kacchan. It’s hard enough forgetting his childhood friend, but when the media that surrounded the city was abuzz with pictures and interviews alike, Izuku never truly could escape from the blond’s presence. He’s different now, that much is obvious. Much more stylish, much more handsome in ways that leave him smiling fondly whenever he hears that familiar voice chiming into the radio or t.v but yet something told him that Katsuki was still the same in his core - and no one, understood Katsuki like Izuku. It was a fact he was proud of, even after all their years of troubles, of all the years he’d been pushed away and left to trail behind like some yearning puppy. It’s almost romantic in a way, is what Uraraka had said once, and although he could see where she was coming from ( that that pining could be something so much more if he let it be ), he’d disagreed.
In truth...all he wanted was that friendship back, and his determined nature had made it hard to let it go so easily.
In fact, it almost felt cruel to himself to do so. Kacchan had been a part of his life for so long that it was hard for Izuku to truly think of him not being there. True...the relationship they had now was strained, and he saw him even less than they had been in high school ( though through the power of media, things had been easier. He could see Kacchan happy. He could see him fulfilling his dreams, just like he knew he would and give him an insight of his own life via snapchats every now and then ), it was enough to at least sate him.
When winter break rolls around, those thoughts never change. He keeps up with Katsuki’s band regularly, and hears about their break before scheduling the biggest tour they’ve ever done and although he knows it’s only a fool’s hope, he wishes he’d at least get to see him in person before he did. The stress of finals was melting off of his shoulders the moment he walks into that door, only to be informed by his mother that they’ll be having dinner at the Bakugou’s tonight, and Izuku’s heart literally could not beat any faster.
The bitter December air hits him hard, but the walk is short enough that he’s guiding and huddling closer to his mother in order to keep them both warm( as well as the cake they’d both spent all afternoon making ). One knock, two knock...three...It’s all that takes to get a grumble from the other side of the door as they’re greeted with the warmth of heat and a not so pleasant looking Katsuki. Izuku doesn’t waver though, wearing the brightest of smile and lighting up the porch with just how happy he seems.
“Ah - K-Kacchan!” He looks good - beyond good, and it takes all of Izuku’s will power to stop staring. My how the years have changed. “We brought cake.”
