“red or green?” hana looked down at the velvet of the two cloaks in her hands, looking up at mack. at her place in old town...she’d gone a little overboard on the aesthetic and poor mack was dealing with an island counter filled with...far too much food. from the chili cooking in the pot on the stove to the bowls on the counter of chocolaty snack mix to the vegetables she’d cut up and put on a tray because....since the ball the other night and hana’s hour of standing at the buffet, she hadn’t been able to kick the craving for the cold cuts of cucumber and tomato. it was just one of those snacks she wouldn’t ever apologize for. “red for you.” she passed the red cloak to mack, maybe just to free her hand so she could again pick up a piece of cucumber to dunk into the ranch and shove into her mouth. she was a mess but she also didn’t give a shit; she was smiling and mack was here. poe was scampering around like he knew this holiday was one he was a born-mascot for.
“i actually have a tiny witches hat for him but i don’t think he’ll keep it on.” hana admits, smiling softly and knowing...the little black kitten would shred it. there was no sense in trying. the emerald cloak, as she was going for the very subtle tribute to the sanderson sisters, was wrapped around her and that was basically it. hana kept to her black skinny jeans and her plain black fitted v-neck and bent down to pick up the tiny black furball swiping paws at her boots with every step she took, handing him right over to mack. “contain him or we’re placing him in some poor child’s pumpkin bucket.”
