I've been struck with an urge since yesterday to do a thread about Jade and her acute awareness about her other timelines bc she has five of them which doesn't include this current life of hers bc this life is the Alpha timeline meaning this is the exact existence she was bound to live in regardless of the route it took to get there.

⊰ ♈ ⊱ My attention span has been bouncing all over the place holy fuck. Anyways, I mentioned awhile back that I was going to make a post about a small change I’m doing towards Jade and while I’m at it might as well give some reminders about what Jade can and can’t do, as well as some other stuff. So here we go:
Change-wise, Jade no longer has prosthetics. She never lost her legs in an accident anymore and instead uses some of the Shadows as thigh highs to cover the scars she has on her legs. I don’t typically bring much attention to the fact she used to wear prosthetics anyways so this change isn’t much of a big deal. She doesn’t have them anymore now so any interactions where they had been mention, you can ignore it or think of it as an illusion. Jade is a bit skillful in magic after all. She just doesn’t use it much.
Reminder-wise, I’m going to use bullet-points. If you need something to be expanded on - shoot me an ask and I’ll post a more thorough explanation. Anyways:
“Quoted italic text means Jade is speaking telepathically.”
“Quoted bold text means Jade is speaking using the Shadows.” The Shadows & Spirits are capable of speaking on their own when they manifest and they too use bolded text. I will differentiate between them should there be a thread involving either one of the manifestations actually speaking.
“Quoted bold & italic text means Jade is speaking verbally.” She doesn’t do it often simply because of the fact she is electively mute. It’s also because of her elective mutism her speaking voice is very rough sounding. Her telepathic voice sounds feminine, and thus matches with the fact she is a 18 year old girl. Her speaking voice doesn’t sound very feminine at all, and thus prompts confusion or the occasional assumption she’s a smoker.

Jade can see and communicate with the Dead. The Dead are not drawn to her naturally - she typically has to seek them out or hum a specific melody to draw them to the area in which she is located in. More often than not, she only does this when she needs to - if she doesn’t have to, she lets them do as they please so long as they don’t disturb the Balance
Jade can see and communicate with Eldritch Horrors. She is more bound to go to their realm in order to do so though. Very rarely does she allow them to slip into the mortal realm, and even then it’s usually only one and they’re either in a condensed or weaponized form.
Jade is not only cold to the touch, but also has a invisible bubble of cold air literally surrounding her. If your muse is unaffected by the elements, they will more than likely not notice it then. However if they are affected by the elements, they’ll feel a mild coldness if they stay an arm’s length away from her. The closer your muse is to her physically, the colder they will feel. It is something you can develop an immunity to the longer you spend time with her though.
Jade’s purpose is to maintain the Balance in terms of energy. She doesn’t care about the rivalry between Angels & Demons or Light & Dark walkers. That’s not her business. As long as their rivalry doesn’t fuck with the Balance, they can do whatever the fuck they want.
Jade has very low empathy and high apathy. Sympathy is not a feeling she wastes her time with. If you come to her looking for sympathy, you’re going to be hit with a rude awakening.
She carries a bag around with her that has items that are very dear to her. Don’t snatch the bag. Don’t try to look inside of the bag. Don’t try to take anything from the bag. Touch that bag without her permission and she will snap your neck. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about that.
