bc I see it on the dash i’d like to talk abt valentine’s in a little bit more depth;

While the tradition in Japan is for girls to gift boys with chocolates on Valentine’s, rather than the other way around; you can still expect Izuku to get his s/o (and friends) gifts, whether chocolate or otherwise. 

He is certainly aware of the traditions, yeah, but never really took part in them; spending most of his childhood isolated from his peers. Being excitable and eager as he is for opportunities to bond, he cares very little as to what is the norm. 

So everyone in Class 1-A (and some others) can expect at least one set of homemade chocolate if nothing else.

Get ready for Izuku “I’ve never done this before so I got everything” Midoriya

I love Izuku bc he is very shy and nervous around people especially around a Crush but he also has zero (0) impulse control and innate inability to not express every thought that comes into his mind so he does shit like kiss them out of no where or inform someone casually that he would die for them at the same time he asks permission to be on a first time basis and practically melts from holding hands

Reasons to consider

Flirty battle banter

Is that romantic tension or aggressive tension??? No one knows

Purposely letting each other go

Trap and/or sting operation that is literally Just A Date

“Hey are you ok?” “Yeah” “ok good prepare to be defeated”

Conflicting values but mutual respect

“You know you’d actually be kind of cool if you weren’t a hero/villain”

Mutual bitching over scummy heroes

One gets sick and the other nurses them back to health because they can’t fight an Enemy not in Peak Condition

Prolonged, wistful, pauses during fights

Things to consider abt Izuku asking Tooru if he can use her first name;

-she is already using his first name on a regular basis with literally No Drama

-seriously why does he need an invitation??

-his original goal was a love confession but this is literally The Best he could do bc he’s a human disaster

-seriously not even like??? “Hey lets go on a date” ??? Unbelievable

-almost threw up doing it

-literally physically he was nauseated and almost threw up asking to call her Tooru (again she already calls him Izuku)

-Tooru can’t see it but she’ll definitely feel it if she holds his hand; he’s absolutely drenched in sweat

That’s all I just think it’s important to remember that Izuku Midoriya is not smooth

Izuku is like the opposite of a tsundere, instead of being aware of his romantic feelings and hiding/denying them by being cold towards them he instead is completely oblivious of his own romantic feelings 99% of the time but showers his crush with honest affection like “we’re just friends :) “
