STAND STILL, STAY SILENT.
Raven’s eyebrows furrow, arms crossed in a tight show of defense. “I have nothing to go on but your word, and we both know how that’s gone before.” A deep breath is sighed, and the girl pinches the bridge of her nose in an effort to calm a bundle of anger rising up her chest. Such emotions wouldn’t aid her here. “You remember what I said, right? Trust needs to be earned.” Her stern gaze fixes on the geomancer, hand dropping from her face. “You lost it back then. Earn it again. Not everyone would give you an opportunity to do so like we have.”
Terra had suspected that Raven would have such a reaction to her, but she didn’t know for sure until she actually encountered the girl and stumbled out a few words. Some of the Titans and their allies had been quick to push the past aside and move on, but not Raven. Terra figured that Raven would probably never allow herself to forget.
The icy words pierced Terra, a sharp reminder of all that she had done wrong to her friends. A reminder that things would never go back to the way they were before. Terra rubbed her arm as she considered how to respond.
“I remember what you said. And I’m gonna show you and everyone else that I am different now.”
