Why did all these shops need an awning? There had to have been some standard awning shop around here that all these places ordered from; all of them were either green, red, and white or blue, yellow, and black. He had been trying to use those to keep track of where they were, but alas.
Instead, they were lost.
Even with her reassurance, he peered over her shoulder (standing tall on his toes) to steal a glance at the now-upright map. He hadn’t taken a single sight of the thing since they got it, and he was regretting it because he might’ve been able to locate where they were.
(Thought, he should have been tipped off when there were dead ends, lefts when there weren’t supposed to be, and surprising lack of right turns.)
“Um, maybe we could look at one of the shops here and try to locate it on the map.”
Did they even have store names on the map? (That would’ve been useful...)
