To my shining star,
I kept this letter in my heart longer than I should, and I thought it’s time I tell you how I feel and how thankful I am to you. I could make this funny but then you wouldn’t believe how real and true these words are!
You’ve met so many people from different walks of life. And these people gave you so many things. People who gave you strength, people who inspired you, people who gave you hope, people who gave you support and people who showed you love. But there are also people who took. People who took you for granted, people who broke your trust, people who demands more than you could give and people who robs you of happiness. I don’t know the exact number of times when you’ve felt disappointed or hurt,
But yet you still love. You still love because you have this child like innocence that chose to trust people rather than shut people out. You always place people’s needs above yours. Listening to them, being strong for them, loving them out of your big heart...you’re amazing! Your personality (and looks) draw people to you. You’re so dependable, so bubbly, so bright, so strong and I really do admire you for that!!
You mean so much to me. When I meet new friends, I’ll be sure to mention your name because you are so involved in my life! The unnie that protects and loves me to the point that she became the reason i’m single-- Joking~ but you do protect and and you do tell me you love me every single day and that’s so beautiful. You constant reminder that I’m precious and I can eat as much fries as I want makes my heart feel warm and fuzzy. You may not know it but your “I love you”s and your protection makes me feel so assured that even if I did fall, you’re there to catch me.
But I hope you know, I’m there to catch you as well! I may be young but I’m strong!! To you, I hope to be your source of strength when your burdens weigh you down. Let me carry some of that with you! I’ll sit with you in the dark if you want to, I’ll hold you close to me and i’ll wipe your tears if I need to! I’ll be your listening ear even though I don’t understand what romantic love is. But I do know and do understand one thing! Love is when I place you above my needs. I said this before, you’re always placing other’s needs above yours so I’ll place your needs above mine. I’ll take care of you! You have to be happy because you deserve to be happy!
I love you on days when you’re smiling and laughing, and I love you on nights when you’re tired, drained and doubting yourself. And I hope you already know that and I’ll keep telling you that everyday because it’s the truth and my love for you just overflows to the point that I need to let you know every single day that even if you feel like the whole world hates you or no one loves you, that’s not true because Oh Hayoung loves you.
