Where her parents had always been considered lacking by her, Emma knew that she was lucky to be surrounded by so many people who cared about her and would help her without a second thought. Well wishes had been pouring in ever since Rita’s article and while she knew that some of them were only out of politeness or perhaps attempting to curry good favour and secure themselves an invitation, she knew that just as many were genuine. Now more than ever she wanted to keep her friends close to her when she knew without a doubt that they were just the people to help her get through the circus of it all with her pride, dignity and sanity intact. That was why she had had owls primed to send out to all those close to her almost immediately and was pleased to see so many responding positively to her requests.
Hearing the bell over the door she could only assume that it was her friend, after all she had managed to book the whole place out so that they could guarantee being undisturbed during their brunch. What they would be discussing was hardly top secret but she sometimes enjoyed the little shows of exclusivity that people like them were able to afford. With a smile on her lips and fondness in her tone she greets the other woman, standing up as she is shown to the table that she picked for the two of them. “Alecto.” It was perhaps a strange way for the two of them to spend time together when it usually involved letting their hair down in the evening but with so many to see and what felt like such little time adjustments had to be made and a change in time was the only thing she planned on being different.
She was still quick to assure the other brunette that she had no intention of the time they were about to spend together being boring. “Now I know this kind of talk is hardly your speed so I have told them to make sure that the drinks keep flowing while we discuss it all. Turn it into a celebration as well as an opportunity to plan some things, I would love to have your opinion on a few matters.” Some might say that their friendship was somewhat of an unlikely one when they both seemed to handle what their society had given them completely differently but Emma had always valued honestly and she knew that Alecto would give her that without hesitation. With everything moving so quickly with regards to the engagement party she didn’t have time for yes men but rather those who would guide her swiftly and with candour.
