Andruil is far less likely to kill a male identifying partner of Ghilan’nain’s because she thinks the very idea that a man could compete with her in any sense to be completely Ridiculous. Things get iffier when a person fucks off from gender completely however, at that point it would depend on where in their household Ghilan’nain assigns them as to whether they’re a rival or a servant below her notice.

Men are good for housekeeping and raising children, it’s women she feels the need to watch for rivals in.

Andruil wouldn’t have been much help to Elgar’nan’s plans if she’d survived to the modern age instead of Ghilan’nain because she’d be hunting the Darkspawn, Venatori, and Antaam for Sport. The Dalish would get a tentative pass for being the guardians of her wife’s Halla but for every one dead Halla she finds she’s killing the nearest dozen Dalish for ‘failing’ as shepherds.

Something something every now and then I am confronted with someone questioning me as to how I consider Andruil a lesbian when I also consider the story of Fen'Harel and the Tree largely accurate and I'm so sorry that Andruil is just That Fucking Messy and an Awful Goddamn Person and was fucking with him in the worst possible way. Having him wasn't about him, it was about having something of Mythal's and unfortunately in Andruil's mind Solas was little more than a trinket to be stolen. It was weird psychosexual warfare Solas just was a weapon and not the target.

Ghilan’nain and Andruil had an open marriage but they simply Could Not be Normal about it and more often than not, Andruil killed Ghilan’nain’s partners when she felt they encroached upon her own ‘rights’. Ghilan’nain had far less say over Andruil’s partners but frankly, Andruil tended to take care of them herself when she grew bored of them so Ghilan’nain didn’t worry overmuch unless a particularly plucky paramour became convinced they could usurp her own position.

Such individuals would find themselves gifted to Ghilan’nain whenever she saw fit to report their arrogance. They rarely lasted terribly long in her care.

I don’t think Andruil would like Vhenatish’an and it might actually be enough of a problem to form a small crack in her relationship with Ghilan’nain. Ghilan’nain loves her creations pretty much unconditionally and Andruil’s indifference to children that Ghilan’nain very much has wanted for millennia is ripping open a very old argument.

To be honest, they don't need to look like Andruil because Ghilan'nain could fix that if she truly wanted to. What matters is the heart, they need to be as driven as her beloved. I write Andruil as having been a spirit of Pursuit, she cannot stop once something is in her sights and that is the important and fundamental aspect that Ghilan'nain would look for.

Goddess of the hunt, yes but also the lady of fortune. She wants someone blessed with the luck to catch her eye. Someone simpering will not do, flattery is nothing if it can't be backed up with action so a skilled warrior is also a requirement. Strong arms and shoulders, hands that have known toil so she can feel the calluses with every touch.

The eyes need to be piercing, the color is less relevant though she misses Andruil's gold. Hawks' eyes holding an unwavering focus, once set upon their prey nothing short of physical blockade will stop them. Bodies are malleable things in Ghilan'nain's hands but there are pieces of the puzzle she would need to feel a vessel worthy of her wife.

Andruil's general opinion of humans, and really any short-lived race besides the dwarves(she has a grudging respect for dwarves I'll get into another time) is that they're young and quicker to action than thought--which is a bit pot calling the kettle black coming from her. She might be nominally impressed with a human that has managed to become particularly powerful but she will always assume that an elf can do better. Modern humans she takes a shine to she may come to assume have some amount of elf or dwarf blood back in their lines, the only reason they could come upon such talent naturally in her mind.
