"hey, i have a question." theo yelled through the shop as he was chucking ammo into boxes, ready to hide them from the rest of the qz. the announcement came about the famine, and as they read 'fend for yourselves' in that moment he knew exactly what that meant; residents would head straight for the armory. as he picked up the box, he walked into the back where he saw his co-worker, ava. "what if we just left all of this here for them?" he asked, setting the box down as he turned to face her. "i mean— they do need a way to defend themselves if things really do go south." he shrugged, looking to her for an answer.

            Dark eyes moved over the male with high suspicion, it was habit, being wary of people in general-- this time around it was because she had just ripped off the casino a few blocks away, hence the uneasy shifting as the sound of sirens reached her. “What’re you lookin’ at?” Ava asked, defensive and annoyed, she had always been shit at keeping her cool in any situation let alone when she felt people were prying or looking at her for too long, which was likely the case in this particular situation. She shifted, sniffling softly and glancing away, observing the street some more.

         It was an easy sleight of hand, slipping in and out again of the man’s pocket, pushing her body against him Ava easily pulled the thick wallet which occupied his back pocket. Ava didn’t always yank people’s belonging’s so eloquently, nor did she always flash such a brilliant smile and all but laugh off bumping into the person. More frequently she was occupying a casino or some backroom gambling party that no one really had the right to attend, but times were rough, she needed cash in order to make more cash, so she was left with no other option. Besides, she’d just drop his wallet off at his address and maybe leave some of her winnings as an apology, she wasn’t that heartless, she was just trying to survive. 

         “Oh, so sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into ya like that,” she said as she spun so that she could discretely stash the newly obtained wallet into her jacket pocket. Offering a smile and a small salute before she turned to make her leave just as quickly as she had made her entrance.

          A deep inhale filled her lungs with the toxic fumes of the cigarette she’d been smoking before she shook her head and crushed the thing beneath her boot, exhaling and clearing her throat. Shifting weight from one leg to the other the woman let her tongue flick over her bottom lip, brow creased as she inspected the other. “So--- have I died? Or somehow gotten to a land with magical creatures?” Ava was used to the illusions she created, however her powers were tricky and they didn’t always abide by her wishes.

        “You owe me,” Ava breathed heavily as she shoved the larger opponent she had ended up facing out of her way so she could step over his unconscious body. She hadn’t really done too much to ‘save’ them, but she would certainly make sure that they never heard the end of it. “Don’t say I never did anything for ya either, what the hell did you get yourself into this time?” As if she was anyone to talk, but again, she wasn’t about to let up, not when she was in this sort of mood.

            “Hey, watch yourself, pal,” Ava snapped, shoving the other away rather forcibly, shooting a hot and defensive glare their way before she huffed and sorted herself, discretely tucking a wallet into her pocket. “Get your head out of your ass and watch where you’re going.” She finished, although the whole collision was her fault, having taken advantage of the fact the other had been severely distracted. It was a simply theft and she was hoping with her aggressive reaction to it that the whole thing would blow over smoothly and quickly, she kept her hands out, after having pocketed the wallet shaking her head and holding their gaze when she had it.
