Mikaela hated the auctions. Ever since he had been turned by one of the wealthiest vampire families in Japan, he had been forced to go to occasional social functions, and appear as a member of high society. He knew he was lucky to have his life saved by the head of the family, but he still resented vampires in general, and greatly disliked most of their traditions.
He turned his attention to the stage when his companion, Ferid, said something to the effect of, “That’s a fiesty one.” For the smallest moment, Mikaela was interested in the auction, if only because he wondered what the fate of the man on the stage would be. Ferid, of course, “mistook” this as an interest in keeping the human as a blood slave. He ended up bidding ten million yen for Toudaimoto Kurashi, and handed over his ownership to Hyakuya Mikaela.
Mikaela didn’t want someone as a blood slave, mostly because he still wouldn’t drink human blood, and he had no idea what he was supposed to do with Kurashi. He paced around his room and ordered the guards to leave, and let the man stay with only handcuffs to restrain him.
“I am Hyakuya Mikaela, your... erm... owner... You will act as my personal servant. I will feed you, give you lodging in the room attached to mine, and let you live a life much better than what you had in those slums of the rebels. You’ll be treated better by me than most other vampires, so just stick with me and keep quiet when you’re around others.“
He sat down on his window ledge and sighed. This was really a mess. He didn’t want this man, but at the same time, he could probably give him a better life than with the resistance or another vampire. Acting like some kind of Master wasn’t new, because he had servants, but he would have to be more firm with Kurashi at first. At least, he hoped that was the right path to take.
“Any questions?”
