He told himself not to fall in love. He told himself not to love a mortal. He told himself never to love anyone. He told himself to run if relationships he had with people were coming serious, But, he fell in love. He never wanted to fall in love. Because, his lover wouldn’t understand one thing about him. He was immortal. That meant he would never die nor age like mortals do. But, his lover was a mortal. Now if you tell him to believe that he'd find them again he wouldn't believe it. Even if he did, it wouldn't be them. He didn't believe in that soulmate crap. What if fifty or so years pass and here was Cheol still looking as youthful as ever and his lover growing old and who knew when their time was up. How would they react?
Falling in love was a beautiful thing, but was so painful too. He didn't deserve this happiness. He didn't deserve to be loved. It would all go away and disappear someday. But, if he could treasure this moment he would. The person who had brought the dragon happiness was Finn. They were able to make him smile and laugh in ways that were just unimaginable. He was the person who was able to make the dragon get all flustered all so easily and he couldn’t help but love them all so dearly.
There would be a day when he would have to end this relationship and run away. Run away before things became worse. To have Finn, who he loved all so dear to find another person to be with. A person that he could grow old with and die with. Cheol would be fine. He would ignore the pain in his chest telling him to stop what's he doing as he'll regret it. The heartbreak he'll feel when it does happen. Forget all the memories that they shared, but knew it would be useless for him. Finn was the one who made Cheol realize what it was like to feel loved and treasured. To be cared for and what happiness truly was. But, mortals and immortals should never fall in love. He told himself that many times, but he failed to listen when he actually did fell in love. It all ended with heartbreak in the end.
Please, don’t leave me here all alone.
Cheol had to end this relationship. End it before it became worse. It had been a few years since he and Finn had been together, but the dragon realized he can’t keep this relationship going because it pained him every time remembering that Finn was a mortal and he wasn’t. That there be a day when Finn wasn’t going to be around and that left the dragon all alone. Time was so precious, yet little did people realize that it was.
Cheol had been asleep because he had came home late due to work, but he began to stir as his arm went to go reach out to Finn, who had been asleep in his bed when he came home, but frowned when he only felt the other side of his bed. He liked it whenever he woke up and there was Finn sleeping soundly as he could feel the warmth of the younger’s body as they slept close to one another. It only made him want to sleep longer or until Finn had woken up.
He groaned and got up, ignoring the possible bed hair he might had as he went to see where Finn might had been hiding. He didn’t even know what time it was but it could had been somewhere around eleven in the morning or so. It could had been the early afternoon hours too. It didn’t take Cheol long to find Finn as he was in the kitchen. He approached the male from behind and arms wrapped around their waist as he went to kiss the male. “Hey. Why didn’t you wake me up?”
