thinking about................ the side effects of allan’s more secret ability over time.......... its p shitty and takes a heavy toll on him because he was never meant to have it :pensive:. that and its manmade: created and given to him using rudimentary experiments and equipment. suffice to say, he’s lucky he’s a viera otherwise he would’ve been dead a while ago KLAFJKLSJF.
along with a shortened lifespan, he’s also physically weaker and recovers quite slowly from injuries despite the aid of healing magicks. essentially, his body may seem like it’s breaking down at times, so he’s also lucky he’s a healer lkJLAKSJF. however the need to heal himself becomes more frequent, mostly because the damage is internal. this can show in nosebleeds, dizziness, coughing up blood, migraines... a fun cocktail LKJAKSLfj.
mentally, he disassociates much more over time and finds the need to ground himself often. he also becomes forgetful and sometimes smaller pieces of his personality/preferences can be observed to change from people he’s close with. he’s pretty functional though despite the mental illness T__T he just feels very out of it and distant a lot of the time, but luckily (or not kljasklf) he’s well-practiced in going through the motions with some personality in order to pretend he’s fine.
this is all over a period of time of course klajslfkj the usage of this ability is quite heavy post-hw up until post-stb so the worst of it hits him in shb. however he slowly recovers himself and heals post-ew, though there’s a stark contrast compared to how he was in hw T__T physically he’s gaunter and thinner: his appetite was always shit but by then its just nonexistent. he does have enough self-preservation to force himself to eat tho LKJAKLSJF. mentally, he often stares into space without realizing it, keeps forgetting small things, and is just. old man energy LMFAO. libido-wise (bc he regards that as a p important part of his life), it becomes average/low compared to very high in hw.
