yoongi wasn’t that good at not neglecting his texts, as well as staying up to date with friends. yoongi wasn’t that bad at losing touch with them. he was a forgetful person, using his life that he always referred to as ‘busy’ for an excuse to his habits. from time to time, worries that he gets on people’s nerves too much scatter his mind, so he tends to avoid everything that he feels like can be the reason for that at all costs. even the more expensive ones.
paranoia and insecurities get the best of him and then when he would actually want to contact the person, he’d feel like it would be too awkward to pop up out of the blue with no explainable reason besides guilt.
guilt is especially more prevalent when he calls hyelim one night apologizing for not staying in touch. the apology is prolonged. his words became rambles and his rambles became mutters and mumbles that sound stupid and make no sense, yet all at the same time, sincere. for sincerity is one of the only things, yoongi can promise the childhood friend. he finishes it off by making it up to her with an offer to take her to everland.
amusement parks were a summer staple, and going the season without them didn’t seem right for the twenty one year old. he couldn’t think of anyone better to spend it with besides hyelim. a few mornings after that late night call, yoongi leaves a simple text. short and abrupt. “come out, i’m waiting.” his back was leaned against the passenger seat side of his car, parked outside of an apartment complex, arms crossed after returning the smart phone to his empty denim pocket.
