//int. hell's gate bar, floor five - late night closing. @murdcrofcrows (finn)
Something about being awake past 4am, almost feels like there's no point going to bed. As if passing through any evidence of yearning for sleep left when back in the day, this was usually the time Ashton Ryder wakes up. Instead, here he was, putting away the last of the clean glasses, having a drink with the Shamrock's boss. Ash usually gets put on a few closing shifts a week, a fair share of the load amongst the team, and he ultimately didn't really mind them, there was a nice peace that comes with closing, an aberrant tranquility when Hell closes its Gates to the world, and you're left behind the doors in a calm wait until the next day begins.
"I'm just saying, she'd be a real good security dog if you ever need her to give people a good scare," Ash joked and chuckled into his own glass, only joining Finn for a drink after his shift, with everything done and set for tomorrow. The two men sat on the stools, Ash, in front of the bar for once, "she's military retired but she's still sharp as blades and raring to go." Dawn somehow coming into the conversation, Ash had thought she'd love to be a civilian dog, no more worries, lazing around, playing in the field but like her trainer, she had that same itch to keep working. He helped refilled their glasses, curious to the new bottle Finn had brought that night for their drink session, "where did you even get this from? Could be something new at the bar if you got a supply." It was actually pretty good liquor, easy to drink neat, smooth, though Ash doubt it'll be anything easy to come by if he hasn't seen this blend around before.
