回 : my muse’s reaction to yours patching a wound

She was reckless in that last fight, more reckless than she would have to admit at this point given her usual hesitance. 

She pants heavily as she felt a searing pain on her sides, thanks to that wound she endured. She knew she had to cover it up and put pressure to it until she gets actual help, but as if she had sense her plight, Tira comes to her aid. Here Tira was, patching torn cloth around her body to staunch the blood before she would feel lightheaded from losing too much of it. Eventually her breathing slows down, as her hand find a way on top of bloodied cloth. 

Sometimes she actually feels lucky that Tira looks out for her so much.

“Tira, I... thank you.”

tori is probably one of the most talented writers that i’ve ever seen here in this community. i don’t even know how they can chug out such long and beautiful replies on both their wander and their robin blogs and still do that primarily. man i am blown every time i try to match it. their voice is so clear when you read it, like? the imagery is so clear in the replies tori makes and it’s such a beauty to behold.

and thank god tori’s so patient because i reply at the speed of molasses i’m always so sorry –

but let me gush about their m!robin for one sec because i think their robin is one of the first fe:a blogs that i’ve ever followed. (i think it was around when i just started pyrrha’s blog idk exactly but it was a long while ago) i love tori’s robin, the snarky bastard. he’s so rough around the edges but he has that reliable quality that the avatar’s known to have in the actual story. tori has these unique ideas and qualities going on with robin that makes him unique from the other mu’s out there, and he’s so fun to watch because of it. like we’ve had one thread that’s been going on forever but i always look forward to it because it’s so fun! and it also helps that robin is so dynamic in it i’m trying to keep up here.

basically without getting too mushy and incoherent tori is gr8 and their robin and wander are gr8 10/10 would recommend both

Oh, do I have a lot. But I think I’m going to focus on one for this one.

Some people like to label Pyrrha as a Yandere, particularly towards the interactions with her brother. And her Omega form didn’t really help change that view in that regard. But let me tell you a few reasons why she’s not a Yandere:

She’s not controlling her loved ones through force or manipulation through any means. Pyrrha herself is more than likely going to be the manipulated than the manipulator.

She’s not obsessive towards a person. Does she have dependent tendencies? Absolutely! It’s one of her more dangerous flaws, but she’s not overly obsessive. Even when she was Omega she wasn’t particularly obsessive. She rages at practically everyone sans Tira.

Her unstable traits have little to do with others and much more to do with herself. Namely past trauma thanks to her past experiences.

I do play her as being protective over her brother, but people sometimes make it seem like she’s obsessed with the poor guy. Um, he’s kinda the only family that she has left? She kind of doesn’t want to lose him or to get him killed like many of the caretakers before him? It’s not like she’s brandishing her sword at every chick who talks to him or something, or isolating him so that he can’t talk to no one but her. Not any of that crazy shit. Her brother’s happiness is one of the most important things to her. She’s not going to screw that up.

Overall, I really don’t think she fits the Yandere trope that well. I think that’s just a huge misinterpretation of her character and story.

✎ - What do you wish the author would reveal/had revealed about your muse?

BRUH. MORE PARALOGUES ABOUT HER PAST I STG. Like it’s no secret that SCV’s story mode is severly lacking. People say the story’s mainly about Patroklos and Pyrrha, which is true in a sense. I think It’s more about Patroklos and his journey really. Pyrrha’s journey isn’t really highlighted as much. I do wish she would have gotten to have a few more chapters displaying why she is how she is. 

Like, show more of her interactions with Tira and her dependency towards her. Show her looking into a market with longing, or kids playing (of course all this can happen before or after the matches because you know). Hell! Have some chapters where Pyrrha is Pyrrha Omega so that we can see what’s going on in her head! Show how she’s dealing with Patroklos abandoning her, show how dangerous she’s becoming, show a vulnerability that only Tira is privy to at that point. There’s just so many things that I wanted revealed about her that I wish was in the actual game.

✦ - Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?

Oh yeah, most definitely! I’m definitely a lot more confident in playing her now than I was when I started her blog and picked her up as a muse in general. I was scrounging up any info on her that I could find and started rewatching videos of SCV just to get a good feel for her and build my own things on top of that. Now I can get a feel for her without doing all of that so much.

I’m still building off new ideas and tweaking some headcanons as I go along, but I’m definitely more confident in my own interpretation of Pyrrha. I feel like she’s my own twist on the character, you know? To show the different sides of her and highlight her strengths and weakness that I felt weren’t given as much attention to or has been grossly misinterpreted. I feel like I’ve touched on that quite a bit. There’s still things that I need to work on and to grow from, but for right now, I’d say my interpretation changed for the better!

I don’t really think that she thinks about race too much. Not in the so called traditional sense if she were racist against blacks/hispanics/jewish people, etc. because she’s not biased or racist against those groups of people, even considering the time period that she’s in. The only thing that I could see applies to this question in which Pyrrha is concerned is if the Malfested count in that equation. Because if it does, then it something that she sometimes thinks about in moments of deep thoughts and fear.

The Malfested and how they are treated in this universe are kind of like… the idea of witches? I think that’s the closest comparison that I can think of. they supposedly sold their soul for power, has unholy properties about them (ie. aging faster/slower, may have deformed limbs or uncharacteristic eyes), and are presumed to be very dangerous.

There’s definitely an idea of discrimination based on appearances alone (ie. Patroklos killing that villager because he looked “pale and filthy”). Not all of the Malfested are like Tira or Nightmare or what have you. Some of them are honest people that got caught up in the Evil Seed and have no idea what to do to get rid of it. Some eventually get corrupted against their will,  some aren’t even Malfested at all. But they get hunted and killed because they were suspected that they were. Sounds a lot like the Witch Trials when you think about it. The only difference is that witches don’t really exist, while the Malfested are really known in that world and they’re also known for killing and razing villages to gather souls for Soul Edge or themselves.

Concerning Pyrrha, I think that she does worry about situations like that. She was practically branded by different villagers as a magnet for bad luck because people who would care for would eventually die or disappear in mysterious circumstances. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of those people thought that she was a malfested back then, so i think that she may have been discriminated against because of it. She does express fear and denial when Tira mentions that she’s a malfested. In her head back then, I would imagine that she had in her head a being that was so hellbent on causing misery and destroying things and is outright terrifying. Surely she couldn’t be in the same league as those kinds of people, right? But I’m sure the killing and the burning towns and reflecting back on her checkered past did a number of Pyrrha’s mindset on realizing that she was indeed a malfested. The transformation just sealed the deal there.

The fear of discrimination definitely increases when Pyrrha gets her sanity back from being Omega, because now she’s got this huge deformed arm which just screams ‘Malfested over here!’ And like I mentioned before, that arm holds so many different meanings to Pyrrha herself. But in this context, she does fear for other people’s opinion of her if someone sees that arm. Dumas’ Malfested hunts didn’t really help with that connotation. If someone was a malfested, then they sold their soul to an evil entity and they’re no longer human. That’s the image of the malfested that the masses have thanks to Dumas. One of Pyrrha’s fears is that someone would see her arm, deem her a malfested, and raze the home of her uncle and brother solely because she was staying there. Another would be that her hometown would be so overcome by fear that they gather into a mob and chase her out of Athens, and it would be deja vu for her all over again.

So if the Malfested can be included in the race matter, then it’s definitely a concern that Pyrrha has in the back of her head. Among a million other things.

☆ = Character’s best dream?

Pyrrha’s best dream involves her having a family. It’s always been her biggest wish to have a family, and this dream is just an ideal vision of that wish.

There’s no instances of her being passed around from family to family. There’s no fire and death, and she’s certainly not killing anyone. She’s just there with a dream family, doing their daily routines and having some quality time together. The activities vary whenever she does have a dream like this. Perhaps she’s helping her would be mother with making dinner or baking something, or perhaps she’s sitting with her would be father on the grass as they watch the sky. Or better yet, she’s laughing while sitting with the both of them. 

It’s a very peaceful dream, and it puts her at ease upon waking.

Oh, yes. A lot of them. It’s one of the main reasons why she sometimes has trouble sleeping.

Because of the life Pyrrha has led, she’s privy to having a lot of terrifying nightmares. There’s a huge range of the types of nightmares that she has. A common theme of her nightmares is from recalling past unfortunate events like watching a caretaker or a loved one die in front of her in a variety of ways. It can show how they actually died, or show a freaky and more grotesque caricature of how they died. The grotesque versions actually frightens her more than anything else/

Another common theme is her being chased by an angry mob or very dangerous men who wants a bounty on her head. It’s another callback to the unfortunate events that happens when she’s on her own. These are the dreams when she feels the most trapped. It’s an endless cycle in which she’s running and running and running and she doesn’t end up anywhere. There are just these bodies and shadows carrying pitchforks and swords as they chase her down. She tries to avoid fighting for as long as she can, until they comes a point where she’s cornered and can’t avoid the inevitable anymore.
