The story of which we have been dealing with is not one that any Englishman can recall with pleasure. It has been mainly a story of intellectual mistake and moral wrong-doing; it is then the more consoling that we can close with a more cheerful note. Sursum corda. Lift up your hearts. Whatever be or failures and mistakes, they are not those of our eighteenth-century predecessors. Whatever be the future of that marvelous commonwealth of nations we call the British Empire, it will not fall to pieces because the selfish greed of this central member of it seeks to exploit its strength and resources for her own private interests and advantage.
Heaven knows we have suffered enough for our sins of the past. The splendid vision of an Anglo-Saxon brotherhood, making for the peace and security of the world, has been hitherto darkened and blurred by the unsavoury memories of Anglo-American dislike and distrust. Perhaps the presence side by side of the United States and Great Britain in the Great War has given us the chance of wiping the slate really clean. Those of us who can do noting else to further the good cause of Anglo-American sympathy and friendship can at least make sure that neither by word nor institution we foul the waters of past controversy, or allow passion or prejudice to obscure the serenity of our political judgments.

1. what does your muse smell like? The scent of bay leaves and the sundry spices in rum that make up his aftershave mostly, combined with notes of bourbon and sweet smoke. During Massachusetts’ bitter winters, the earthy and woody smell of Oliver’s fireplace clings to his clothes.
2. how often does your muse bath/shower? any habits? Daily, sometimes twice a day if he is working a case that requires his presence in a hospital or an unkempt asylum. In both showers and baths, he has a habit of letting the water get excessively hot. During baths, he tends to smoke heavily while reading the newspaper to unwind after work..
3. does your muse have any tattoos or piercing? Absolutely not.
4. any body movement quirks ( ex. knee shakes )?
He tends to bite his bottom lip when anxious or plotting something devious and his fingers tap softly against any nearby surface. Light sweating occurs when angry and (or) a situation doesn't go his way, as he has an intense need to be in control. Fear is never a factor.
5. what do they sleep in? Underwear, generally. Sometimes unclothed if it is warmer than usual. He doesn't like to feel constricted when sleeping. Outside of his Bloody Face guise, he does not own casual clothing whatsoever and seeing as he lives alone, the need for pajamas is irrelevant.
6. what’s their favorite piece of clothing? He doesn't attach to clothing because in the orphanage he grew up in, no one owned his own clothes. They were shared. Instead, he attaches to other material items. Oliver is excessively sentimental with the memorabilia he's taken from each of his victims, from skeletal body parts to material items. He tends to revisit a victim's home after he's murdered her to take his time going through her belongings. There may have been something he saw previously while scoping her home before her kidnapping. These items range from women's jewelry, eyeglasses, photographs, driver's licenses. Beyond what he learns in the public archives, these items help him learn even more about the life he has taken and therefore develops a 'bond.' He's also partial to an old wooden hair brush from his childhood that he keeps at the back of a dresser drawer.
7. what do they do when they wake up? Gets up, makes his bed, puts on a pot of coffee, and takes his time selecting and laying out a suit for the day. Showers, shaves, and dresses. Makes breakfast, listens to the radio while he cooks and eats. Makes any necessary calls then he’s out the door.
8. how do they sleep? position? On his side or stomach, spread out like a skydiver. No reason not to take advantage of the excess space since he sleeps alone.
He sleeps somewhat deeply, usually with the help of light sedation that liquor provides. Dreams are almost entirely absent and any dreams he does have are completely forgotten upon waking. He is unable to recall them.
9. what do their hands feel like? They aren't rough but they aren't completely smooth either. As a child and orphan during The Great Depression, he occasionally worked odd jobs for a few cents a day. As an adult, there are lingering scars inside his palms from skirmishes he has gotten into with a victim or two during abduction.
10. if you kissed them, what would they usually taste like? Depends on the time of day tbh. Morning he tastes like coffee and cream. Sometimes you can find a hint of bourbon that his coffee has been spiked with as an the aftertaste. At night, he tastes of smoke and liquor varying depending on his taste of the night. A martini, Wine, whiskey, gin and tonic, etc.
