Tony was anxious as he walked toward the massive palace that stood before him. He had been called to a realm he barely knew because his work had seemed to get the attention of the King of the Nine. He made weapons as a business and built machines as his hobby and it seemed that both of these had caught Odin’s attention. He’d been brought to the realm, not even allowed to say no, and was taken to the grand hall where Odin sat on his throne.
He hated bowing, hated kneeling, reminded him of times he’d rather forget, but he knew he had to for this man. He dropped to bow and was greeted as if nothing more than a bargaining chip. “We wish to work with your technology and add some of our own to it. I want you to make some here for us, teach some of our people if you would, and once you’ve done that you can return to your realm should you wish. You will be paid handsomely and will have the best equipment we can provide, should you agree now, and will have our best weaponsmiths and mages to work with you.”
Tony frowned deeply, once again no real choice. He nodded, not particularly wanting to lose his head for his own opinions, and with a small nod from Odin he was taken into another area of the palace. Tony couldn’t help admiring some of the intricate work and found it fascinating to see the finer details in it all. As he was brought to his new workshop he couldn’t help almost drooling. The place looked like heaven to him, he might as well have died and been dragged here, he loved it. He ran his hands over some of the tools, some he had never seen before and didn’t know how to use yet, but he would learn the way he always had; getting it wrong and hurting himself.

“What the fuck-”
The book had been her first online purchase. She’d been proud of herself, of course, that she hadn’t completely destroyed her laptop in the effort to navigate the ridiculous website (though she’d cursed her face blue ten times over). What she couldn’t understand was that nobody else had bid on the book. Certainly, the book didn’t altogether appear remarkable to the naked eye--worn bindings and weathered pages, presumably from changing hundreds of hands over the years. Still, to Molly, it was the most beautiful thing in the world...
Well, outside of the fact that it seemed to be magic. How else could she explain the oddly-dressed man that had come from absolutely nowhere? The one who’s mouth was sewn shut?
Grabbing up her bat, she held it as threateningly as she could muster.
“Who the hell are you?! Wait, strike that--can’t talk, I guess--seriously, though, what the actual fuck, man?! Where the hell did you come from?”

Tony had been almost certain that Loki would come to his tower just because, although he hated to admit it, they were more a like than he thought. He flew straight there and hoped he had managed to beat the god to it so he could prepare for the fight; feeling furious when he saw the god was already there.
He had hoped to get a one up, to tease the god into a false move, yet he was sorely mistaken when he felt that magic seep in through his heart and into his mind. He’d always been told he didn’t have a heart yet now here was this strange magic that had proved them all wrong. He felt the part of him that fought against Loki, that demanded his home back, that demanded the God leave his home planet began to fade. Those thoughts drifted and seemed to become nothing but small whispers while other thoughts like how he could protect the world, how he was saving millions on lives by teaming up with the god. He stood close to the god and watched over him as his chocolate eyes shined softly with blue crystals.
“Sir, the others are making their way here fast, will be on us in 10 minutes if Jarvis’s calculations are correct.” His tone wasn’t quite monotonous but it was different to normal.
