     His father thought it was time to merge the land creatures (that were not humans) and sea creatures, and, apparently, his fiance’s parents thought the same. Of course, his father chose one of his youngest sons to do it since he did not have any daughters. Also, he’s sure he wanted Meltem out of his palace soon enough. He was not ready to disobey his father completely, although he had done it multiple times on extreme scales before, he needed the money still. He’s roll with this plan as long as he was getting what he wanted.

“I’m fucking done, Daikon.” This was it. Meltem was tired of the lying about where Daikon goes and returns covered in bruises. He was done with Daikon not letting him handle the situation. He was tired of Daikon not letting him stick up for his boyfriend.

He was heading towards the door, pulling on his shoes and jacket. If Daikon was not going to stop him and tell him what the fuck was going on, then this was not going to work.

He turned around once more before his departure, to give Daikon one last chance to tell him everything. “I cannot keep doing this, Dai.”

           “Yes, please do. I am tired of you.”      Meltem felt extra angry today, and Daikon seemed like the right person to take it out on. He did not know exactly what made him so mean, actually, he did, but he did not know what made him want to act on it. Meltem had no friends, no real family, no one. And he did not make it better for himself. Although, he did like being alone. Plus, he was not completely alone. He had his aquatic friends to talk to if he needed, even if they did not talk back.           “Why did you even start talking to me?”

     Meltem, when on land, always used to rent a hotel room, but since he decided he was never going back home to his “family” again, he decided to get his own apartment. He knew nothing about what normal human apartments looked like, but he assumed that it was nothing like the Ollila kingdom. He decided the best root to go was to find the shittiest apartment possible without it being too shitty (for he still wanted to be content in living there). 

     He was enjoying his time there for the first week, with only minor disturbances (but he handled those quite quickly), but he soon found out that the neighbor directly next to him was not as silent. His neighbor decided that eleven at night was the appropriate time to start yelling at only God knows what. This had to be handled immediately, and so he slammed his door shut obnoxiously loud and headed next door.

          “Listen, I’m the las’ one to fucking suggest this but, you need to go to the doctor.” Coming from Meltem, someone who has never been to the doctor willingly, it is a big deal. The cough was more like a hack, and Meltem was not going to make himself get sick. The last time Meltem was at the doctor was when he was a child before he started rebelling, so that should say something.
