Ryen/Sharla
22. things you say after it was over.
They all make back to their own world, where the sky is decorated with hues of changing orange created by the morning sun peeking out from the distant horizon. Reyn, most likely, would have made a comment about how nice it was to see finally see something again that was not in Zanza’s dark space, but being drenched by Eryth Sea’s waters was not helping him take in the sunrise’s natural beauty.
"Why me?" he groaned out, attempting to stand back up but was having difficulty doing so. He tried to pick himself up by pushing against the ground, but there was no solid floor; his hands kept sinking into the sand and the rushing back of the waves was forcing his hands to dig into the sand further deeply.
His poor attempts did elicit laughter from the others, who have all landed perfectly on the shores of Eryth Sea and away from the seawater. Riki was laughing at his failure the most—the darned Furball. He was going to have to get his revenge on the Nopon volleyball by giving a special treat of his Reyn-lovin’ noogies.
There is a shadow that appeared over him, which broke him out of his vengeful thoughts. He looked up to find none other than Sharla, who had a very fond smile on her face. Her hand was welcoming him to take, and he stared dumbly at it.
”Let’s go home, Reyn.”
She looked so happy, and so relieved. It occurred to him right then and there: they had reached the end of their journey, and now the only thing they had to look out for was an exciting future full of the unexpected. In other words, they really didn’t have to worry about anything anymore and all they had to do was get through the rest of their lives all together.
Being able to experience the future to come with Sharla sounded perfect in his agenda.
Instead of letting her hoist him back up and before she could do anything about it, Reyn gave her a mischievous look and pulled her into his direction. The next thing he knew, everyone else joined in on the water splashing contests. The laughters blended together, and Reyn knew that everything was just right again.
