;-- okay but the day that naruto got inaugurated, everyone celebrated, they all had a big party, everyone was congratulating him for his big success, and he was over the moon. but at that time, sakura couldn't attend the big party ( she did attend his ceremony ) bc she had a huge medical emergency. once she managed to get the situation under control, unfortunately, it had been late and the party obv was over at that point, and she was exhausted anyways so she made her way back home. just as she got home and was about to open her door, someone catches her attention. it's naruto still wearing his newly acquired hokage attire, holding a plate covered in foil. he asks first if everything is okay with her emergency and she answers accordingly, apologizing for not being there for the big party. he tells her he understands and explains the plate he has as food he saved up just for her, knowing she must be hungry after working so hard. she accepts and thanks him. naruto wishes her a goodnight and is about to leave until sakura reaches out for his sleeve. he turns back around confused and asks if she's okay to which she replies with "you did it, naruto. i'm so proud of you." and sets him off and he wraps his arms around her, shedding tears. between sobs, he thanks her for being there for him through the thick and thin, for always supporting him, for getting him back in gear whenever he would lose his path, for being his most cherished friend. she reassures him that she should be the one thanking him for not pushing her away despite her behavior and for allowing her to be that shoulder to lean, for being the hope of the people, for changing their lives. he gets more emotional and holds her closer and says "thank you being the sakura that protected the flower" as a recall to that one shippuden episode where he asks her to protect a flower as he protects the flower ( sakura ) that protects the flower and she starts tearing up herself and just aaaaaaaaaaaa
