“OUT OF THE CAR, PEACHES. OR WILL HAVE EDWARD AND WHAT’S HIS FACE THROW YOU OUT.”
@acekuratetto wants Natalia to fuck up their Monday!
“....”
“...Why...Are you staring at me like that? Is there something on my face?”
weasels-muses replied to your post “(Peridot) " So YOU'RE this Natalia I've been hearing so much about."”
" You can 'help' me by debriefing me on what it is you think you're accomplishing by harassing my ......allies."
“...Harassing? I haven’t texted Swiss in days. You know, ‘cause of the holidays. The only person I’ve really...”
Oh.
“You know Satoshi, don’t you? How the hell was I harassing him?”
“...What’s wrong with him?”
“I dunno. He lost all of his pens and somehow they ended up on Edward’s desk.” She held them up. “I was gonna give them back but it’s kinda hilarious how much he’s freaking out. But I also know how that feels. I lost my special green pen once and I was pretty sad. So, I’ll give ‘em back in a minute. ...You look terrible, by the way.”
His gaze slowly slid to Kit’s ghost inspecting Natalia’s desk before sighing. Great. Just great. It was his fucking ghost of a sister-in-law. He turned back to Natalia, rubbing the back of his head. “Had a very bad therapy session. Ever feel like you take two steps forward but then like ten steps backwards? That’s me today. I’m nothing more than a failure at this whole getting better thing, I guess.”
“Anyway. Don’t worry about it. I’m going to go and look through some case files in the back room. I’ll be out when I’m done looking for what I’m looking for.”
“...Uh....Okay? You sure you okay?”
“M’fine...” Gently giving Natalia a pat on her shoulder, Satoshi pointedly made his way past Natalia’s desk and hissed, “Don’t mess with her shit,” to Kit before heading to the back room.
Now. To find that case file.
“I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON!”
Why was she yelling at him?
“I WAS ASLEEP LAST NIGHT!”
“DON’T PLAY THAT WITH ME, EDGEWORTH! YOU MAY HAVE BEEN ASLEEP BUT IT WAS BECAUSE YOU WERE PASSED OUT BECAUSE YOU HAD SEX. WHAT’S GOING ON?!”
“I DON’T KNOW! I barely understood the text message myself! I’M OUT OF THE LOOP LIKE YOU.”
“...This is what happens when we work ourselves to the bone. When people really do need us, we’re out of commission. I’m going to feel guilty about this forever....”
He’s pinching the bridge of his nose, clutching a thick folder of reports in his hand. Why did he always get the fucked up cases? Why?! Was it because his last name was ‘Edgeworth’? Why did-
“I’M HERE! Sorry, I’m late,” Natalia said, running up beside her boss. “Ed said he’s finishing up some paperwork and he’ll catch up with us. I know you want him to focus on investigating the body. So...What have you- OOF!”
She just grabs the thick folder, looking up at Satoshi. “What the hell is-”
“Just read it.”
“Okay...? What are these? Medical records? Of our victim? What do they have anything to do with....” And as she read, her face grew paler. And paler. And paler. “........Oh.”
Getting on her knees, Natalia lifted up the white sheet at the midsection and...
“......This isn’t just a murder case anymore, is it?”
“No. It’s a race against time. I’ve already alerted the proper authorities. We’ll brief Edward when we get here. As much as we can. Right now, we’re going to go as planned. We’ll run Edward through an investigative process of the body. As we wait for news.”
“CAN WE JUST HAVE SOMETHING STRAIGHTFORWARD FOR ONCE?! LIKE SO AND SO. AGE 55. IS PUSHED THROUGH A FUCKING MANHOLE. WHY CAN’T WE HAVE THAT?!”
He’s laying against his parent’s car, groaning.
“There you are. You look rough. Do you need anything?”
“...A bag. And my medicine. It’s been six hours and I haven’t taken it and I have to take it and I don’t have it and I feel bad.”
“..........Oh. That’s not good. You look like you want to throw up. Do you need me to get your husband?”
“Fiance, Nat.”
“Whatever. I’ll be right back. Do not make a mess. Also, you shouldn’t even be out today. You’re sick. And have pneumonia. I swear to God, Satoshi. You should have stayed home. I’m going to find your husband now.”
And she just ran away to find Edward.
