It was yet another rainy day at Shujin Academy. Days like this, most students would refuse to step outside unless they were allowed to go home. So, at lunch time one wouldn’t expect to find any students outside, save for the few who were rushing back indoors to avoid the rain.
And yet in the courtyard a lone girl sat quietly. To her, the rain was a deterrent. A shield to drive people away. She was partially protected by the awning above, but getting a little wet didn’t bother her anyway. It was none other than Nanashi Aikou, president and sole member of the Shujin Academy Goro Akechi fan club. It was just as well, because Aikou was disgusted by other human beings, and the feeling was undoubtedly mutual.
When the weather was like this, she’d always eat lunch out here. Usually it was an effective people-avoidance strategy. Even when people made fun of her for it, it never bothered her. After all, this was such a clever way of avoiding the crowd! They just didn’t get it because they were stupid.
But today was different. Not even five minutes into her lunch, someone else appeared and spoiled her quiet time. Did the rain seriously not bother them either? She hoped that if she just ignored them, they’d go away. She said nothing, but refused to even look at the newcomer. Her indignation clear in her every movement and expression.
