The masked figure leans against the wall opposite the cell. In that cold, distorted voice, he speaks. "Our agents say that you /appeared/ from thin air..."
...shoot.
Blinking a few times, paling just a bit in color, she presses herself further against the wall, the distorted voice making her distressed, but the words.. “Well, you...you can t-teleport, can’t you? It’s...the s-same thing, is it not?” A bit of bluff, though she has a feeling it won’t take. The figure seems too smart, and at the moment she’s not thinking of portaling.

“… do I look stupid to you, Kagari? Gullible, perhaps?” Oh, she’s glaring now. And if looks could kill you would be six feet under long ago.
“Not at all. I’m just sayin’, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” With a shrug, the woman plays ignorant, raising her hands as if innocent. Just hit her.

Things were rocky lately. Kagari always knew that things would go wrong eventually, but she chose to ignore that in favor of trying to live the life she was given a second chance to live. Maybe it was her mistake for losing touch with everyone. But even that aside, she can’t completely escape her old life. Not with the way she had left so abruptly.
[To:: Daisy]Whatcha up to?[DRAFT DELETED]
She wasn’t sure why she was thinking of starting an idle conversation over such a simple topic. She couldn’t be that desperate for some kind of human contact. She needed to get out and get some air, maybe. Likely, Daisy was busy at the moment anyway.
[To:: Daisy]I’ve been thinking, what if we tried doing a contest together? Ya know, like old times. Might be fun. [DRAFT DELETED]
There it goes again. That message had been considered just before things went wrong. Maybe it was spite, maybe it was an order from an old, confused former leader. Betrayal and defecting from the team couldn’t go down very well with such a vile man. Hell, maybe it was even just some drunken, angry order. Normally Kagari isn’t one to be taken out so easily. But she was caught off guard just outside a contest hall. There were frightened screams and exclamations, but Kagari couldn’t focus on them. There was a sharp pain behind her head, and ringing in her ears that about muffled any noise around her. The Seviper that let itself coil around her in her confusion allowed a lengthy, dangerous gaze into the woman’s eyes, before a faint order from its trainer, garbed in a familiar red uniform, drives its fangs into the woman’s shoulder deeply. There’s a shout, maybe some struggle. It’s hazy. Everything just faded to black.
[To:: Daisy]Daisy….I need help. [DRAFT DELETED]
They never took her phone. Must not have considered it. As vicious as you could train a grunt, forgetting key points like that could be rather deadly. Regardless, Kagari deletes the message hurriedly, hiding her pokegear as the grunt found his way back to where she was, confined to a small cell, Arceus knows where. She’s been poisoned. She can feel it in her veins, feel it in her weaker limbs. Of course, he has the antidote. That doesn’t mean she’s going to get it. There’s a bargain offered. The antidote and her life, in exchange for something else. Either the life of someone close to her, information on Sapphire and Ruby’s whereabouts, or she goes to Maxie herself.
Refusal. Kagari’s not weak. Not even when physically so. She knew no matter what choice she made, she would lose in the end, regardless.
[To:: Daisy]Sorry about not messaging for a while…you okay? Safe? I’ve been feeling a little off lately. Guess I’m just paranoid. Just wanna make sure nothing seems weird around where you are.[DRAFT DELETED]
She’s starting to sound desperate. It’s been a day of being stuck here. The poison is painfully slow. Kagari’s not sure if she wants to he cured, or just die quicker than this. Of all the ways she planned on dying, this wasn’t one of them. There were a few bruises. Strikes, from her blatant refusals to give any information the grunt needed. Turns out, Seviper’s tail is nothing to be underestimated. That’s proven from this morning when she’d dared to verbally insult the man interrogating her. It only earned her a strike from the snake’s tail that bit deep into her arm, leaving behind a gash that bled rather freely for a while.
[To:: Daisy]Hey princess. Remmber that time when we were kids? Boy what a worn out line thta sounds like. Remember when those boys wouldn’t leave u alone and I got into that big fistfight with em? Man, poeple sure got angry. Srry this looks a lil bad. Guess im a bit shaky 2day…do me a fvor? Drop by my place. Make sure Ninetales n the oethrs r okay.[DRAFT DELETED]
It hurts. A woman like Kagari wants to go out blazing, proud and willing to die. Yet here she was weakened with snake poison and blood loss, body aching from the numerous failed attempts to interrogate her that only ended up curse words and painful strikes given by a violently raised Pokemon. It hurt, but not enough to keep her from biting her tongue. No information on the gym leaders. No information on the league members. None on Ruby or Sapphire. Kagari was clearly willing to die with whatever she knew.
If she wanted to die? That was fine. The grunt already knew. If it didn’t look like they’d get their information, then he was permitted to eliminate his prisoner. Kagari knew as well, or at least she figured as much. So was the dangers of having a past like the one she carried. Which was why when the cell was left unlocked and open, the area already cleared out and left empty, she knew she was done. A second, deep and venomous bite, delivered in the other shoulder, closer to her neck. More poison. She could already feel it. That chill coming over, the painfully sick sensations that seared through her trembling, dirtied figure. Everything was left unlocked, because Kagari wasn’t going to be able to make it out even if she tried.
What a rough life. But that’s about what she expected out of it. She’d already screwed up more than she could fix. There was no redeeming that. There was no coming back from this one.
Be safe, guys.
[To:: Daisy]I should’ve listened to you.Take care of Ninetales.I’m sorry.

At least for a little while, Kagari's sleeping habits were bound to be a bit...different. For one, she was sleeping less often. Most likely avoiding what she was afraid was an unsavory nightmare again. But on the other hand....
"Mnn..." A small, sleepy noise slipped from the otherwise out woman, hand blindly reaching out for Daisy to grip whatever she could find, before she seems to scoot closer, curling up against Daisy. Unconscious physical comfort, perhaps. Either way, she was probably going to make it difficult for Daisy to get up eventually.

"It is, isn't it? Sorry 'bout that. Guess I got to thinking about the last time I didn't say it soon enough, and...well." Kagari shrugged. "Guess I don't like making the same mistake twice. Anyway, I'm a little more tame than I used to be. I like to think people can still get along with me."
