by the way, kind of late, but happy new years! this year i'll be drawing even more madeleine pics. love y'all xoxo
I am pretty sure the canon reason they can't talk is because they have no mouth. I mean, I get wanting to do it on your own terms, and I'm fine with that. Just that, I don't think "Void in the throat" is an actual thing. But if you have an idea as to how you came to that conclusion, I'd like to hear it!
//Well, it is for my interpretation of the Vessels, how about that wording instead. My canon is that they literally do not technically have vocal chords or true organs actually. It is just Void inside those shells. So here comes another ramble/tangent on how my Vessels work. You can ignore it if you want.
It’s this way for my muses because when I read somewhere (I literally cannot recall at the moment if it was in the game or wiki or elsewhere) that when their eggs were put in the Abyss before they’re born and the Void entered the eggs and then hollowed out their shells and filled them instead it made me think that the Vessels are literally Void creatures in a bug’s shell. That’s it. They are literally a shell with no organic parts inside, just Void. It’s why when you get a game over and Ghost loses their shell you see the Void being they are inside, their Shade. That’s their true beings. They should, in reality, be purely empty creatures. Hell they shouldn’t even be able to use Soul since it’s likely an opposite to the Void.
In my understanding, that’s why the Pale King did it this way. Void itself, in my opinion and understanding, is a substance/creature that literally either absorbs everything - light, sound, thought - to leave behind nothing. Or it lacks those things and therefore cannot produce such things - what the king desired as ‘pure’. Where the Vessels differ and therefore become impure is a product of the Pale King and White Lady themselves, the what I like to call ‘organic’ parts of the Vessels, the shells and ‘life force’ I guess. The Pale King and White Lady are Higher Beings, gods, and therefore have unique traits that of course would transfer to their children.
The Pale King is said to be a being to give ‘minds’ to bugs right? Naturally something like that is going to transfer to his children and would be hard to just breed out or empty out when leaving their eggs to be filled by the Void. So there’s where their thought traits come from.
The White Lady, never stated outright canonly but sorta implied, has strong emotions. To me this is shown with the Pure Vessel’s crib in the dreamscape White Palace which has a chair that likely is where she sat next to it. If that’s true then those traits likely passed down as well and so they have a will and emotions.
Both of the monarchs deal with Soul - they are pale glowing asshole gods after all, so there. It’s shown in their combined charm the King Soul. It also explains Hollow’s extreme control over Soul when you fight them as the Pure Vessel in the pantheon.
And the reason they lack a mouth is because they literally have no use for it. It was essentially ‘bred’ out of them so their shells are completely closed up. Sure, the babies that were in the eggs before getting hollowed out and transformed by Void had mouths, voices, lungs, stomachs, etc. Everything a normal bug had but once the Void came in and transformed them they lost all that since they didn’t need it. Like yeah they can eat and drink but it isn’t vital for them to live. It’s sort of like a luxury and makes them feel more like a normal true bug but they dislike doing that in front of others because it’s still extremely strange to watch for normal bugs.
In short, whatever the Void doesn’t need to survive (which is in essence everything) they don’t have in their bodies. Everything that makes them an individual with thoughts, emotions, wills, etc. is in their shells essentially. Once they become a shade they kinda lose those traits, or at least they are no where near as strong as when they had their shells.
Hey guys! Super sorry for my inactivity... with Miraculous’s US release being pushed back again I can’t help but feel a slight lack of motivation to role play... I don’t plan on abandoning this blog, but I may not be very active.
The semester is starting up again on Jan 22 for me, so I’ll be really inactive around that time. I’ll be online to lurk and answer stuff, but my replies may be slow. Two weeks ago I was in Iceland for Christmas visiting my boyfriend, so I was really inactive then, too.
Life is really busy and I totally appreciate all of you who still interact with my slow ass. Thank you!! <3
