If you ask me to rp on discord, you’ll get a ‘no’. I’ve tried it before, but it feels wrong to me. There is no one to see it and it makes everything feel more uncomfortable, as if it is more personal than just roleplay. It feels more discrete and hidden, which might give it more of a thrill, but I like keeping my stuff public. 

A group server might be the solution, but even then it doesn’t feel like that much fun to me. I miss the esthethics of tumblr with the icons, font and little touches to the post that make it all look so damn pretty. Also those can move so fast, it’s harder to get a reply out on time. Especially considering how slow I am most of the time. 

Finally, I love the whole blog concept, where you can scroll through years later and find cute threads again. Sometimes, when I go look at my old blogs, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. With discord that’s harder to do. Just give me all the nostalgia, please. 

RP on Tumblr is my thang. So let’s keep it here.

How do you run your blog?

Speed: If dictionaries came with pictures, you’d find a picture of me right next to slow (as fuck). Some days I’ll pump out twenty replies, on which I probably worked for days, if not weeks, other times you won’t see me at all. I’m the worst. Sorry. 

Replies: I like starting short stuff, but then it always evolves into four to ten paragraph threads and I die inside... Replies also tend to stay trapped in my drafts for a long time, and the longer the thread, the more likely it gets buried for a while. 

I’ll usually adjust my formatting to the person I’m rp’ing with. If they don’t do anything special, I’ll just use small text because I like how it looks. 

Starters: I don’t like greeters, and so I don’t bother with it. If someone tags me in a greeter, I will respond though. That is, as long as they didn’t tag multiple people in it, because then it becomes too much of a mess to find the replies and I’ll just leave it untouched. 

I do regularly post a starter call. Usually these are for short starters, but knowing me, they turn into the long threads anyway. I also appreciate it when people ask for a specific muse, because I have a multimuse and I’ve noticed that people will just like my starter call and then get disappointed I picked the wrong muse. So to spare me that anxiety, please specify. 

Inbox: It comes and goes. Lately, my inbox has been pretty calm. Same thing here though. If you send me an ask, please specify which muse. 

Selectivity: I’m not all that selective. Except when someone godmodes or their muses react in a way I just can’t relate to in terms of characterization. When the most stoic guy imaginable becomes a giddy school girl, I’ll back away slowly. 

Wishlist item: Perfect chemistry...for any muse. 

Honest note: Life's insane, and my health has been shit lately. Plus I’ve got a wedding, a move and all this baby stuff to arrange with @heroesmakesacrifices, so I think I might pull even more disappearing acts in the future. And some days, I don’t even feel guilty about it.

– I don’t really reply fast to the messenger, because I hardly notice anything outside of my drafts.

3 stages of rp:

1. day where everything flows, you keep pumping out replies with a huge, excited grin and you’re feeling good about life. 

2. day where you don’t even know how to word. replies are slow and frustration shows its ugly head a lot, but your friends are there so it’s somewhat cool.

3. the darkest day where everything you do seems to suck, you feel super lonely and everyone probably hates your stuff. anxiety strikes and you know you should get off tumblr but it’s just too damn addictive.
