He can handle the phrases that others pass his way. Even small threats mean nothing to him these days; Not since his excursion from Freerdache. However, when someone else is in the line of fire, he tends to step in. At least, the main difference from how things were back then to now, is he won't jump to the sword so quickly. Using more conversation to quell the people involved.
Today's luck in things seemed to be more tense than usual. Siegfried isn't one to get frustrated so easily, but Lady Luck wants to see just how far she can go.
A brow raises when Vivian's voice cuts off his train of thought. A pause -- assessing the situation as a whole rather than a bit of the picture he's been handling. With his helmet still firmly upon his head, part of his smile become hidden. When it comes to matters of the crew, he tends to err towards protecting them than the other options at hand. He nods, with not much of a word and gently ushers Vivian to walk beside him.
Honestly, she had no idea why that stranger was even glaring daggers at Siegfried, but with how tense the atmosphere was, Vivian figures the best thing to do was just give him an actual reason to LEAVE. Granted, she could have resorted to violence or demanded whoever it was to stop bullying him; only, something told her the last thing he wanted was for her to cause an even bigger scene, so she ended up directing his attention elsewhere.
Thankfully, Siegfried seemed to have taken the hint, for he’ll soon nod and usher her to follow him, causing relief to slowly seep through her features. By that point, she’ll begin skipping behind him, though not without directing her gaze over her shoulder in the process to make sure the stranger wouldn’t try anything untoward, like cowardly pulling out a sword on them. Much to her fortune, however, the stranger merely gave one last huff before storming off, leading Vivian to finally TURN and quicken her pace until she fell into step beside Siegfried.
“ Jeez... did someone piss in that guy’s oatmeal this morning or what? ” Vivian comments. Perhaps it was a rather crass way to put it, yet at the same time, Siegfried provoking the stranger first seemed very unlikely; after all, she had observed his interactions from afar for quite a while now to know he would never start unmecessary drama on purpose. “ While I suppose I could have given him a nice bonk on the head, that probably wouldn’t have gotten him off your back any quicker. ”
Still, now that Vivian thinks about it more, maybe pretending to be his clingy lover and DRAGGING him away would have been a better option, yet for that to work, she’d have to touch him and that proved anxiety-inducing, because she was used to men growing uncomfortable whenever she becomes physically affectionate with them unprompted. Why, upon thinking about Siegfried’s potential reaction, Vivian begins shuddering. Yeah, on second thought, she doesn’t deserve to touch him with those same sullied hands of hers.
