@hxnbean My precious son. I feel a strong affectional connection to him, ever since we first spoke. He’s always caring and kind, and even if we don’t talk all the time, I care a whole lot about him. It makes me very happy to see him around and he never fails to make me smile even if I’m not having a great day. I’m going to try my best to do the same for him, because he deserves that. Enough of the cheese. God.

whatever happened Rick wanted Carl to know that here, with him, he was going to be safe. Of course that was an easier sell if things hadn't gone and turned out the way they had but shit happened. That's what he kept telling himself, that's what Jesus kept telling him. Shit happened. And from that low hill came even higher ones and soon enough it was going to take them climbing to actually get anywhere. He was sure that through everything he was going to make sure that his boy was safe, his son and his little girl. The only two people in the world that mattered to him but, at the end of the day, it was beat down to pure survival. So he looked into his son's eyes nightly and told him that it was going to be okay. Negan be damned.

Just like tonight. He set his hand on the table between the dishes and the half poured cups of iced tea and he met his son's eyes. "It's gonna be okay."

       An array of pots && pans  begin to clatter against each other even before she is       left with a full sentence.  A flick of her wand sets the water running  &&  another        for the kettle to set a new course for the faucet  (  This is one of the  few  tasks        she is trusted with in the kitchen. — She’ll find some joy in the thought. )  Brief       smile combats against ever the icy exterior && pushes through, giving beloved       son a glimpse at the visage of a woman stronger than a fortress.  (  She builds       her walls higher than anyone else. You will not see suffering. )

He had watched Carl out there. how couldn't he have noticed the graying look in his eyes? The way that he seemed to be slowly slipping away from him. It was the destruction of Alexandria, it was the death that seemed to litter even their lungs. It was his boy losing the warmth of humanity when he needed safety and a way to just live. Sighing heavily he gripped his hand onto Carl’s shoulder with a small exhalation of breath. “Y’alright?”
