it was nice to go on an outing with soohyun outside of training and the royal building, even if it was to work on training stuff more. she was grateful that the other girl was willing to help her out with her vocals. she had been working hard on improving her singing abilities, wanting to feel more confident in her abilities there. it had been a tough choice between singing and rapping, but since yoojung was here and lisa had improved her rapping abilities, it seemed like a no-brainer to pick vocals. 

now she was here, with soohyun, ready to die from nerves. she had long since overcome a lot of her nervousness with performing over her time in royal, but being monitored and critiqued by a fellow trainee? yeah, nerve-wrecking. still, she makes herself do it, taking up the microphone and getting ready to sing the recent release by luxe. she actually really liked the song. she knew they were getting some mixed reviews on the mv, but shiah had liked it all, already knowing the song off by heart. she just hoped soohyun didn’t laugh at her.

one of the performances shiah had agreed to was soohyun’s. she wanted to help where she could, of course, but mostly she had agreed so she could get closer to her. the likelihood of them debuting together had gone up since royal survival ended, and so shiah was determined to get closer to her so they wouldn’t feel weird debuting in a group with a stranger. she was a little surprised by soohyun’s song choice at first, but she could see now why she would pick it. she had every confidence that soohyun could pull this off. she had the power vocals for it, plus she was beautiful, it work out well. 

soohyun didn’t seem to think so though, and this reminded shiah of when her and wendy did an eval together where they had a more mature, sexy concept and wendy had been shy about it. “i’ll tell you what i told wendy, confidence is everything. you can definitely do this, you’re not lacking anywhere. you just have to believe in yourself and you’ll be fine.” she gives the other girl a thumbs up, hoping to encourage her with her words of advice. she truly hoped soohyun would find the confidence to do this, shiah would be behind her every step of the way.
