He had been away for some time, traveling for about nearly a month, and no doubt had he been overwhelmingly homesick. But in his mind, home consisted of his best friend; Yixing. He missed the other dearly, he missed the cheery smile that the other would look to him with, the calmed voice that would greet him, and the endearing sight of the other’s dimple which dented deeply within his cheek, filling Yifan with the warmth he truly needed.
The days in which he resided in London were gloomy, grey, and damp; his manipulation due to his moods were unseen within the country, and it made him feel invisible which he honestly did not mind. The feeling that pulled strings within his chest grew with each passing day that he was away from Yixing. Like a flower without its sun; he felt as though he was withering away, so in the dark without the other. But now that he was back he only ached to find the other.
After everything was placed back into his room—basically a carelessly thrown suitcase—he ventured out of his apartment immediately to head to the other’s house. He wondered how he could surprise Xing, he had bought a few things for a couple friends when he was away, but being as forgetful as he often was, he had left everything home to look for his friend. Yifan heaved a sigh and shook his head disapprovingly at himself from his actions. Always so forgetful, Fan.
He missed the familiar city as he walked through the freshly dampened sidewalks indicating it had rained a little earlier on, and he took in a deep breath; the natural scent of his surroundings washing over him. Upon doing so, his head turned towards a flower shop he nearly passed, the bright array of flower catching his eyes instantly and he spun on his heels to enter through the open door; inviting him in.
The different scents of flowers filled his nose, and surprisingly were not as overwhelming as he had thought. The natural state of things were much more beautiful as they were subtle and calming. A kind woman happened to greet him and he soon realized what he would bring with him to the other. He then explained exactly what he was looking for all the while wondering to himself whether his friend would like the selection.
After paying the woman he left, continuing on his way. Home was nearing with each step taken, and his worries dissipated once he laid eyes on the house. Surprisingly, his friend was out so it didn’t take long for the other to notice his tall frame growing closer. A smile. Serenity waved through him. A hug. Warmth radiated within him. And the gentle voice filled his ears. Home. Before answering Yixing, he handed him the colourful array of tulips; violet to show his loyalty, white asking for forgiveness of being gone so long, and yellow to express the cheerful thoughts that now soared through his mind now that he was back, the blooms of flowers tied within a small bouquet.
”I missed you, Xing. I hope you like these, I thought bringing you something would be nice since I haven’t seen you in so long. I really missed you.”
