@0rainy0muses0 asked: { Allen for Kanda, it's birthday time! } Allen had been missing from his room in the morning, no where to be found engaging in his usual routine where Kanda might have found him. In fact, no one seems to know where he is ─ perhaps sent off on a last minute mission? That would suck, considering the date… However, when Kanda orders his usual breakfast of soba and tea, instead of Jerry calling out his name once ready, Allen appears. He's smiling, carrying a tray of said usual soba and a pot of high quality, earthy, bitter matcha instead of the usual green tea blend. "Happy Birthday, Yu." He doesn't go out of his way to make a scene or announce it; just sets the tray down and sits across from his boyfriend ─ still smiling. "I hope you like it…I've never made soba before. Well, Jerry did help me and we've been up since early so I could get it just right. I also bought the matcha, there's a whole tin of it just for you in the kitchen now."
It had been a bit disappointing, not finding Allen in his usual spots. And the few he asked offered no help. Lenalee seemed rather genuine in having no idea where the Exorcist was, and even the cuddly Akuma twins were tight lipped, and strangely unwilling to track down their ‘best cousin’.
Though, Kanda didn’t think too much about the strangeness. Chalking it up to another oddity of the day.
While Kanda didn’t place much value in his birthday, he had wanted to spend the morning in his partner’s arms. A bit of relaxation before the day became full of disappointment. Realistically, what would change? What would make today any different than yesterday?
The answer to that question came to him during breakfast. Allen, walking up, tray in hand with what Kanda considered to be the perfect morning meal. It brought a smile to his typically angry face, and made Allen’s absence earlier click in his head. He must have dodged Lenalee, and bribed the twins not to track him.
So he was here the whole time, doing this for him… How sweet. It gave Kanda warm fuzzy feeling that he wasn’t wholly used to. He reaches across the table, taking Allen’s hand in his own and brushing his thumb over the other’s knuckles. “Thank you, Allen.” He says, softly. Simply.
Maybe his birthday wouldn’t be just another day this year, after all.
