Oakhurst cafe, closed down for two years, now reopening.
Scott's manor is a little side part off of the cafe that's extremely like…gothic? I suppose would be the word.
Scott is that boss who most of the employes hate or are scared of- PYRO AND AVID- coughs.
Scott was the manager 6 years ago, when the cafe first opened. I'm bending the rules slightly here, but that's okay. He quit four years after, and Louis took his place. He shut down 'The Manor' mostly due to that being Scott's thing and he didn't see much of a point. Owen was an extremely dedicated customer for one and a half years who joined the employee cast right before the cafe shut down due to fire damages.
The cafe reopens under Scott. A new set of employes joins- the entire cast. Each for their own reasons. Then there's Owen who is just reminiscing over Louis who kinda disappeared and He Totally Had A Crush On Louis. Anyways so The Vampires are just a game the team plays. Don't ask how it started. No one really knows. And then it proceeded to somehow become lore-driven. Shelby. Shelby did that. So everyone got real into it, poetic lines and all. Pearl, yes, is the employee who calls out for the most absurd yet ?somehow? true reasons. She has not been fired due to her being one of the most reasonable workers.
alive again oops. i will be ( slowly ) getting through replies i owe, but do feel free to send in ask memes or hit me up if you'd like a starter (even if we have other threads going) <3
The Abyss Called Myself or Sol System? Those two sounds pretty cool!
Okay so... Sol System.
Remember that one idea I had about turning the Solar System into various object-head OCs?
Yeah, it... Kinda grew legs and ran away.
To explain something first: Sol System takes place on a higher plane of existence. Essentially, it's too complex for sapient beings to understand, resulting in us only seeing what we normally observe when examining space.
However, on this higher plane (still trying to name it), one can observe that every celestial object has a body and soul, and can actually move around freely in space. Anything that happens here will also happen to the object in the observable plane, just in a way that's explainable by science and astrophysics.
The empty vacuum is cold, dark, silent, and suffocating, and is described as eternal torment. The sheer vastness of the vacuum is feared by many celestial objects, as getting lost would most likely mean spending the rest of your existence in a lonely, frozen state, slowly decaying.
Stars are considered divine beings, bringing light, heat, and radiation to the void. They're also seen as creators, as their birth and death induces pro-planetary disks and nebulas. The star, planets, and other celestial objects construct enormous megastructures out of these called... Well, Solar Systems, or just Systems. (They appear less like normal depictions of Solar Systems and more like multiple rings orbiting a star, kind of like astronomy rings).
The Systems are in place to offer home and spare celestial bodies from the psychological horror of the vacuum, as well as to defend themselves from other Systems looking to take their resources.
They're also a ridged caste system in place. Planets are ranked underneath the Star, serving to maintain the structure and order in their systems. Dwarf planets are similar, except they have less important tasks. Moon's are specifically tasked to assist and support their planets directly. The remaining asteroids, comets, and other miscellaneous objects work in various maintenance and wellfare branches.
There's the Sol System, ruled by the star Sol and it's eight planets.
I won't get into the characters just yet, as this lore dump is already long. I will leave you with their titles:
fox rambles about his de:pp au for an hour (WILL INCLUDE S2 SPOILERS)
right. the ghost pug au. note some might be out of character because I just really needed this au to work.
this au is mainly tem focused, with some courtney and pugsley and crumbs of barney and norma. with logs and badyah being Irrelevant
up until the s1 finale everything is the same. Until after tem leaves. where he comes back because oops he's been disowned, and while I don't think it's possible I need this, tem has his magic. Gone.
thus he ends up coming back to the park as a permanent resident. he takes the form of a ghostly pug (what he looked like in driver's seat) because he finds it more comfy after being in pugsleys body for so long.
he has various opinions on and by the rest of the cast. norma and barney think he's. Bewildering. but norma Does enjoy having the prince of demons at her job because like. cmon that's prime podcast shit.
Courtney and pugsley though...
they're a lot more. Important.
tem likes to think him and Courtney are friends. but courtney is still spiteful he didn't let then go "home" (we all know what that home actually was) so they have a sibling dynamic until eat the parents where they clear it up in that argument, where they chill out. still sibling dynamic though
Pugsley... oh he is conflicted for a Long time. the dude possessing him just lives with him now. but he comes around and the two become Inseparable.
general episode tidbits
during s2s opening courtney and tem are just playing fuckin go fish before fingers shows up(courtney immediately bolts leaving an annoyed tem to follow)
fingers has beef with tem too, because he's a very big issue between pugsley being the watcher.
during trials of barney tem and norma are watching the match and he tries to tell her about as. and fails because norma waves him off because they got into a minor argument earlier and she wants to figure this out herself.
tem has a very awkward experience during sweet 1600. but when the watcher shows up tem jumps in front of zagan and gets blasted.
Pugsley and courtney are rightfully pissed when they realize. but fingers denies any involvement and that he'll be out soon.
He isn't.
regardless everything leads up to the other side and going up. where pugsley has two reasons for going with fingers. the revival of barney and. That fingers said he'd release tem if pugsley went with him.
going up is. About the same. but with the addition of tem being released with the other three. everything stays about the same up to pugsleys sacrifice. tem is Distraught.
the timeskip goes the same. expect tem has moved from sleeping in the same room as barney and pugsley to the same room as courtney. who's reluctantly told tem about them being a fallen angel. so when that scene plays with the fake halo, tem barks(because he picked up being doglike from his time in pugsley) to alert courtney about someone entering, before following norma down, following her to the last scene, where he bows and apologizes for his past acts and that he's not asking to be undisowned, but that his ex family will help him and norma take vengeance on the angels.
oh also I think there's something to be said about how hurting/killing a character isn't treated as seriously in more recent (Invaders) comics as it used to. not in audience sense like we all knew they weren't going to kill Toro in the '75 run just as much as we know nothing that happens to Steve will stick. But the characters almost seem aware of it? like this is jumping off how no one takes Toro almost dying seriously or like, reacts at all besides Jim. Because in comparison to the Toro getting shot arc that's jarring. Even in comparison to the 2014 Invaders run it feels off.
some of this is coming in from whumptober thoughts but just putting a character through physical or emotional pain should get some reaction from their friends I think. idk I was going somewhere with this but .... maybe I want Toro and bucky to hug again on panel maybe I want to see people still be protective of them even if they aren't kids anymore maybe I grew up and I'm being weird about things now. idk. maybe I want protective Toro without the context of Irontorch because honestly no one liked that. or an exploration of the shared trauma of labs and experimentation and mind control and just. that very specific loss of control rather literal over yourself or over your image or other ways.
