If Maro could see, he would most likely be very self conscious about the way he looks. He would be the kind of person who would be wary about looking at himself in the mirror.

2, 4, 6, 8!

2. Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.

Maro has freckles on his lower back, and on the back of his thighs. He has a tiny scar on the back of his head. His hair needs to be parted in order to clearly see it. It’s faded with age.

4. Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?

He stutters when he’s very nervous, though that doesn’t happen very often. He has trouble pronouncing the word 'extenuating' and 'procrastinate.' Maro doesn’t have any trouble expressing his thoughts though, but they sometimes don’t exactly make a lot of sense.

6. If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?

8. Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?

He tends to be a quick thinker, but it depends really what he’s thinking about. If the situation calls for a lot of thinking, then he will need some time to do exactly that.

9. Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.

Maro has auditory dreams, since he only has had a few hours of actual sight when he was born. His nights are filled with empty blackness, but they are usually filled with multiple noises coming from all directions inside his head. He has had one dream where he could hear his father calling out for him, and no matter how much Maro felt like he was moving the voice kept getting far away. After that dream, he had awoken and called his father just to make sure he was okay.

18. Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?

He’s more of a follower or just staying on the sidelines. He can’t really do much leading, but there are times when he can. But it’s mostly just him following. He doesn’t mind it too much though, he’s used to it.

22. Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?

Maro tends to trust people rather easily, but he’s never really met someone who would try to gain his trust just to break it. He thinks it’s slightly out of pity for him, but he doesn’t really mind or want to think that way of people. So he trusts rather easily.

3. Does your character have an accent? What does it sound like?

Maro as more of an American accent, considering he grew up in America. But there are times where a slight Japanese accent will filter through, but that’s when he’s trying to speak another language.

He voice isn’t really completely deep, his voice sort of sounds a bit feminine. He has a modulated voice, very silvery.

6. If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?

It would either have to be Lionhearted by Porter Robinson featuring Urban Cone, or It Pulls Me Under by Butterfly Boucher. 

12. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.

Anxious but he doesn’t like to show it.

Exuberant.

Fanciful.

Obsequious.

Superstitious.

Maro's blindness was caused by a brain aneurysm a few hours after his birth. A blood vessel had broken causing a bleed in his brain and he required surgery. The bleed was quickly taken care of, but the surgery had risks, and the main one was blindness.

He still has a small and slightly faded scar from the surgery. If you part the hair on the back of his head, it can be seen.

Maro's room is very simplistic. Since decorations are kind of useless to him, he doesn't have anything on the wall but a few shelves for his books and a framed picture of Hyun Ki and him smiling. It was given to him as a gift. 

He does have two or three little trinkets on his nightstand. He has a little bottle of sand that he collected from a beach trip with his family, a shark tooth that his mother had gotten, nail polish given to him by his brother Katsu, and books in braille about medieval time periods given to him by his father. He has a comfortable chair with multiple pillows in one corner of his room, and a desk right next to it where he does his schoolwork.

His room is always neat and tidy. He can't afford to have something on the floor, and then ending up tripping over it.

==   Maro has this worry that constantly pesters him in the back of his head. It's the worry that everyone is only being his friend or wanting to be in a relationship with him because they pity him.
