Daisya whipped around, having not expected an answer. He stood, unsure of what to do, between Lenalee and whatever contraption of her brother’s that he’d just broken. In his defense, it had been and accident. Well, poking around something he really shouldn’t have been touching was no accident. But breaking it? That wasn’t supposed to happen.
“Oh hey! Didn’t see you there. I was just uh…” He had to thing of something. Quick. “Looking. Yeah. It’s a little banged up but nothing too bad.”
As he spoke smoke started billowing out of the machine, flames peeking out from the gaps. He didn’t look back.
“Everything is under control.”
