via @dailydot: the “wall” is more than a waste of time: It’s a distraction from the real conversations we should be having. The whole discussion has devolved into nothing but smoke and mirrors, blaming the United States’ missteps on undocumented workers, who continue to get thrown under the bus for our mistakes. Instead we need to face the fact that the drug war has failed—and a giant concrete slab 60 feet high won’t change that.
via @washingtonpost: The “anchor baby” narrative is politics at its worst — serving mostly as a Republican dog-whistle, tapping into an implicit racial sentiment that suggests children of color are less than fully American or they’re just a vehicle for gaming the system. It accomplishes nothing other than stoking the unwarranted fear that too many Americans continue to hold about our country’s changing demographics.
Sometimes anonymity and safety just don't combine. Unseen hopes to prove otherwise.
