CS Fic Rec Monday: Author Rec @donteattheappleshook
I had to rec @donteattheappleshook this week, because though I loved her CS fic entries for both the @cssns18 and @cssns19 events, I did not realize until this past week how many other wonderfully enjoyable stories she had. (Boy, had I been missing out!) Not only does she have other great one shots, but she has two ongoing MCs that I can’t wait to dive into!! So, without further ado, a few of my faves to get you started:
“Just Human” and “Just Human, Vol. 2″ - These are the two stories that first introduced me to this author’s lovely work. Both are AU versions of the BBC show Being Human, with Emma as the ghost, Killian as the vampire, and David as the werewolf character. Heartfelt, intense and dramatic, these stories tug at all the right emotions. (The first one is a long one shot, and the sequel is a 5-parter.)
“Check Ups” - This story which offers various missing moments through the timeline in Season 2 when Killian was in the Storybrooke Hospital, and it’s really just irresistible. Emma keeps checking on him, trying to convince herself she just wants to be certain he doesn’t escape. However, she’s truly worried about the pirate and his recovery, and it becomes clear they’ve already gotten under one another’s skin.
“Six Weeks” - This one is both funny and then simply delicious! Basically this little fic proves that Emma can’t resist her husband as a caring father any more than the rest of us can shake the idea... ;)
“The Gardener” - This modern AU features Killian at his most sweet and attractive, and Emma being incredibly (and adorably!) flustered by it. Emma runs every morning, and the day she runs through the neighborhood where Killian is landscaping turns into something so much more than a daily bit of eye candy. Fluffy and perfect all the way around!!
“More” - This one shot features CS in Neverland (with a side of Neal getting some of the embarrassment and frustration he deserves) and it is truly steamy! (Not just because they’re in a hot, muggy jungle either! ;p) I love how even in this charged and sexy encounter Killian’s chivalry and care for her show through... he really is “always a gentleman”.
