Annoyance was the best description to describe Edmund's current mood. First off, he had been stuck on the ship with no sight of land for a fortnight. Second was that he was even sent in the first place, this was Peter's domain, but he was currently on his honeymoon with his new wife, Elizabeth. Third was not being able to see his family for the next few months.
Troubling news had come to Cair Paravel from the Lone Islands, slave traders had come back and had killed many of their people. One of them being Duke Rixon, Caspian and Peter had put him in charge before they left back home a year ago. Caspian was also preoccupied for the next 7 months and couldn't accompany him, due to Susan being pregnant with their first child. And dear Lucy was in Archenland and couldn't come either. So it was left to Edmund to take care of this mess.
His dark eyes scanned the area surrounding him, they had reached the Island a day ago and after setting up a strategy, he and a few of his men had stepped foot on the mainland. There was not a soul in sight, not surprising. Edmund had made sure to land in an area that wasn't near any of the islands major cities, but that didn't mean the scum weren't skulking about. "Reepicheep, go forward with your men and scout the area." He ordered, the mouse nodded and left his sight with his team of mouse's.
"We'll set up camp here. Anders!" His lieutenant stepped forward when he was called. "Go back to the ship and pass word to the others and the other ships, that they're to remain there until I send the signal." The man nodded and departed to the longboat. Edmund brought a total of 300 men and Narnians to fight off the slave traders and after they won, they would have to help rebuild the areas that were destroyed.
"Sire!" Edmund's head whipped to the side and saw Reepicheep coming towards him, "I found the citizens camp with our soldiers guarding the area! Many are injured!"
