Ricardo: I wanted to bring this up. I want you to start thinking what you're going to do with your life.
Garth: Like what kind of job I want.
Ricardo: Yeah. Why don't look at engineering.
Garth: No thanks.
Ricardo: Why not. There are a lot of jobs that are opening up.
Garth: I really don't see myself in that field.
Ricardo: How about Architecture. you seem like the kind of guy who would want to create.
Garth: maybe I mean there's like a lot of limitations due to the fact that they're safety.
Ricardo: Look. Do you want to become like Uh...
Garth: A Hero.
Ricardo: Garth. When you were younger. It was cute you wanted to be a hero. Like Popeye or Goku.
Garth: Mario. He was the hero I wanted to become like.
Ricardo: Whatever. The point is that you can't do stuff that is within fiction. It's not real.
Garth: I know but...
Ricardo: Look. I'm only telling you this because your mom told me to tell you this.
Garth: [Sigh] Fine. I'll give it some thought. Maybe I'll look into a job where I can try and change the world. Like a politician or something.

Man. I still don't know what kind of job I want.
Maybe a doctor a lawyer could be good but I dont want to go to college for longer than 4+ years.
A game developer or writer seems fun. Maybe I can try and find a job doing that. I could even work on a Super Mario Brothers title.
[Time skip: Dinner]
Akira: So Garth. Have you decided what you want to do.
Garth: I was thinking about doing something in gaming. Like writing.
Akira: Oh. That's...Nice.
Garth: You Paused.
Akira: Huh.

Garth: Well what you want me to pick out a profession. I wanted to become like Mario in some way.
I figured this would be a good compromise
Akira: That's fine but don't you consider that maybe you could be an engineer or...
Ricardo: He said he doesn't want to become an engineer.

The reason why I was reluctant was because... I'm kind of worried that you might not have a stable...job.
Garth: Stable Job?
Akira: I'm worried about you. What if you're unable to provide for yourself and.
Garth: provide for myself. Mom, I'm doing something that I love. I'm sure the money will be fine.

Garth: look the reason why I chose this was because I couldn't have a chance to work on something I'm passionate about. I couldn't be hero and be like Mario. But the very least I can work on something that I know about.
Akira: Look, Garth. I'm not going to be sugar coating this for you. But you seem a bit in denial...
Garth: Mom I'm not in denial. It's just that I want to do something that you clearly don't approve of.

[Garth plays through the first Super Mario Brothers for an unspecified amount of time]
Akira: Garth. Go to bed. Even if it's Friday night. You should still try to get some sleep.
Garth: Fine Mom. Just let me turn off my console.
[Garth flips a switch on the SKES and gets into bed]

Garth: [Gets out of bed and leaves his room] Morning Mom morning da...Where am I

E Gadd: I'd like to apologize me and my team really messed up but it seems like we had transported an entire room when we meant to get a tennis ball.
