In hopes this feeling will wash away.
For days the ground to the entrance remained untouched by any being, mechanical or organic. The harsh white plagued the greens of the Citadel. It was an odd time of day, hours after midnight and minutes before the first break of day, the perfect time to exit out the tall doors of the large establishment without disturbing those who remained inside to recharge. Last thing this ice 'bot wanted to do was explain what he was doing outside at such a strange hour. A purse of the lips and Iceman whistled a familiar tune, moments later he was soon accompanied by his little Pipi companion, Cinco, who Ice reached out for and now held in his petite palms. The feeling of chilling cold cindered across his sensors, a familiar feeling.
A lift of the arms and Cinco was given two kisses on his forehead, a thank you for his long journey and a good luck for his travels.
Ice had a special job for him now.
From his pockets arose two letters. He gently nudged them between Cinco's beak. "Be very careful with these boy." his voice remained soft yet stern, one with a good ear could hear his inner heartbreak, something he was determined to keep secret. "I'm going to end everything with these."
And with a nod Cinco fluttered upward and was off on his way, through the clouds and past the far off lands. Down on the ground the one 'bot in front of the gates could not help but let all of his new found stress overcome him as if the tears had minds of their own and decided sledding down his cheeks was the best idea for the moment.
Several days later the worn robotic bird remained perched on the nearest window, tapping the glass with it's beak for attention, for access. It struggled with the two letters.
Now these letter, they contained little content, expressing himself through physical words was something the small ice 'bot needed more work on. One was encased in a deep red envelope, it was sure to stand out no matter where it was, that was it's purpose, to grab attention. The other was small and plainly white, a simple letter with a simple message.
The red envelope contained a letter with the message:
"Dear Mister Freezeman,
If anything, I'm really sorry about the other day with Tenguman, he's hard to handle and although he usually means well he never uses his head and acts, well, like Tenguman. But that's all I want to apologize for. I want to say how much I regret trampling all over the privacy of you and Mister Solarman, I did it for stupid reasons. As much as I hate to admit any of this I decided this letter was going to be written in a straight forward manner and make thing clear.
Truth is, whenever I see you two I can't deal with it. I wanted all of your attention, all of your hugs, every last inch of your caring but knowing I can't have that made me realize it's better to just stop meddling with the two of you. It's stupid having something I can't have so I'm ending this confusion here.
I had Captain, my other mind, take over to keep you away. He's within me to protect me and what was driving me mad were my feeling about you. He says love is a hassle and will only distract me from work and judging from this sinking feeling I feel everyday from my core I believe him. The fear of telling you anything just left me nervous beyond sickness.
That letter you sent me was a lie, you said you love me and want me to be happy. You suddenly came into my life and then you left just as quick.
I want you to know that you broke me and I don't know how to let this feeling subside.
You obviously forgot I even exist.
I'm not happy.
I only hope you can be happy for me.
-Iceman"
Finally, the white letter, which has 'to Solarman' in large marker writing read:
"I'll leave you both alone." Short and sweet, an obvious message.
The letters were meant as a release, oddly truthful yet knowing that ruining his facade in this way would bring whatever hope of even staying friends with Freezeman to shambles.
