Written in these walls are the stories that i can't explain
Store of my life, One Direction
The Dragon Princess
The pharmacist who does not want you to have a social life
So I went to Walgreens this afternoon to pick up my normal prescription - one I have gotten many times before mind you. However, when I went to pick it up, the girl told me I had to wait for a consultation with the pharmacist. No big deal - a longer delay before I have to get back into the office. However, when the pharmacist started talking, I wanted to run screaming for the hills. First of all, and I am being honest here, the woman had a limited grasp of the english language. Seriously, I had to spell "not pregnant" three times for her before she understood what I was saying. Then she decided to ask me if I had Herpes. Nice huh? Especially considering I was getting medicine for my allergies. I know there is a social stigma out there, being sensitive to pollen must mean that you are a whore. "No I do not have Herpes," I declared to almost the entire store. This, mind you, was the highlight of our interaction. Not sure if it was her grasp of the English language or her desire to completely humiliate me, but out of the 50 or so side effects, she decided to pick out the most embarrassing ones to talk to me in detail about. Pharmacist - "One of the side effects is dark urine" Me - "Okay." P - "No really, it your pee looks dark like green, like moss is growing or something there, call doctor right away." Me - "Okay" P - "Also, this can cause really intense cramps, like menstrual cramps, but focused on your vulva." Me - "My what?" P- "You know."
Me (hoping this will get me out of there faster) - "Okay."
P- "In general, this medicine can make this area (she makes a circle gesture around her crotch) very bad."
Me- "I really don't see what this has to do with my allergy medicine."
P- "This is not allergy medicine, it is for urinary tract infection."
Me- "Well then that's not my medicine, because I don't have that."
P- "Yes you do."
Me - "No, I don't."
P- "Yes, says so right here."
Me- "You mean on the pill bottle that says Mrs. X (trying to protect the innocent here)?"
P- "Oh that's not you?"
Me- "No."
P- "Oh, here is your medicine. This will not affect your area (again gestures to the crotch) at all."
Me- "Okay."
