The EPD Registry: Designed For LEED Professionals
Actually, The EPD Registry isn’t just for LEED professionals. It’s for anyone who is interested in learning about the environmental impact of building products. To learn more, visit The EPD Registry, the only online database designed exclusively for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
What is an EPD?
Similar to a nutrition label on a box of cereal, EPDs summarize the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life-cycle. For example, an EPD illustrates how a particular product contributes to global warming, smog and acidification. Learn more about EPDs.
EPDs and LEED v4
EPDs are increasingly beneficial to Architects, sourcing professionals and others who specify or purchase products based on environmental attributes. It’s also valuable for those seeking to pursue new MR credit areas in LEED v4, Green Globes and other green building programs.
Simplifying the EPD Search
Several leading building product manufacturers have released EPDs. However, until now, there has been no central database for EPDs. The EPD Registry fills this important information gap in the market and it’s growing every day. Searchable by product name, manufacturer or product category, The EPD Registry eases the search process while also providing manufacturers with a central repository in which to list products that feature an EPD.
AEC professionals can search The EPD Registry for free and a “quick-start” option enables manufacturers to list products in The EPD Registry for free. Each listing features a product description, product image, a link to the EPD as well as manufacturer contact information.
