Sitting cross-legged at one end of the bed, flipping through the pages of her text book as he sprawls across the other end, writing furiously in his notebook. They’re both in their own worlds, her with her studies and his with his music. It’s like this when the days are calm, when their lives don’t rip them away from each other. Every moment possible is spent together, even when they don’t necessarily have anything to say to each other, they stay in each other’s presence.
Raven should’ve known after an hour he would do something like this to distract himself. Normally, it would be her slithering under his body and blocking his view of the notebook so she can receive attention but it’s his day today. Maybe it’s the way her fitted tee sits snugly around the curves of her chest and waist, her piercings visible under the thin fabric, that got his attention. One way or another, she knew he’d make a remark about it.
Her head lifts, her pen trapped between her teeth as she slowly registers his words then her sharp eyes narrow at him playfully. She takes the pen from the cage of her lips and wags it at him, reprimanding him, “Eyes on your work, mister. Now’s not the time to play.”
It’s not often that he gets distracted but working on his compositions at home now have changed things. Drastically.
He was lounging around the backyard of the cabin at first with Raven swinging idly in the hammock beneath shady trees, tidying up the fallen leaves into a neat pile and he’s whistling to the beginning melody of a certain composition that he had fixed just a few nights ago when he hit a brick wall. But now, lyrics start to suddenly flow in his head as smoothly as the gentle river in the distance, so much so that he leaves what he’s doing midway and flashes inside to the cabin to find his notebook and get everything down onto paper. Raven follows with the pets all trotting at her heel into the bedroom where they both lose their selves in their work, the silence in the bedroom comfortable and calm. It doesn’t matter if there seems to be no order or sense to it, Jonghyun will manage to tidy it all up later. All he knows is that if he doesn’t write it down, he won’t remember it in the next few minutes and he’ll be wrecked for the next week and a half about it.
He doesn’t notice that Raven is still with him in the bedroom until after he finishes, gaze flickering up to land on her immersed in her studies, textbook and notebook on her lap and a pen fitted between her slender fingers. His head tips slightly, his own pen dropping in the binding of his notebook as he watches the way her dark, violet orbs dart from line to line, absorbing information to the way her plush lips wrapping around the butt end of the pen before his eyes begin to trail even lower to the fitting tee that stretches across her torso and rides up just slightly along her hips to expose tanned skin. The words slip from his lips without him even realizing, chocolate orbs meeting hers only when her soft voice rings out that has his lips curling up at the corners. A devious and playful glint flashes across his irises before he leans forward and takes the wagging pen from her fingers in between his teeth, tossing it to the side. “I don’t want to though..~”
