Today, the Federal Trade Commission launched a public inquiry to better understand how consumers may have been exposed to false or unsupported claims about “gender-affirming care”, especially as it relates to minors, and to gauge the harms consumers may be experiencing. In a Request for Information, the FTC encourages members of the public to comment on any issues or concerns that are relevant to the FTC’s consideration of this topic, including by submitting any written data, advertisements, social media posts, disclosures, or empirical research.
The public will have 60 days to submit comments at Regulations.gov, no later than September 26, 2025. Once submitted, comments will be posted to Regulations.gov. Individuals wishing to submit confidential, non-public comments should reference the alternative submission guidelines in the RFI.
Applications are open for (free) individual comic critique/feedback sessions! These are intended for emerging/ intermediate cartoonists without BFA/MFAs with a comic at least at thumbnail + text stage. apps open 4/10 through 4/24; notifications go out by 5/1.

What Would Your Future Spouse's Parents Think of You?

Pile 1
Okay, I feel that your FS probably dated a few people before meeting you. I see that your FS's dad may dislike you at first. He might think you're lazy and inattentive and wish your FS could go back to one of their exes, because they prefer them over you, tbh. The dad might also be superficial, constantly nitpicking at your clothing, especially your shoes. As time goes on, he'll soften up a bit and start to become more supportive towards you; he might even become your #1 fan lmao. If you participate in competitions or things like that, trust that he'll be there! Even if you lose, I think he's the type to go somewhere to celebrate that you even pushed yourself to do that. I think he'll seem more like a father figure to you as time goes by, pile 1. I think that after awhile, he'll think that your FS marrying you was the best decision they've ever made. He thinks your marriage will last a lifetime.
With your FS's mother, she may be stuck on one of your FS's exes also, but she wouldn't change her mind about this at all. She'll think that you're too pompous (regardless of your background) and reserved, and think your FS needs someone more down-to-earth. Watch out for her, tbh. I think she's the type of person who would sabotage things just to tell you that you don't deserve your FS. I think your FS would make sure to gather evidence that their mother actually did these things and show them to you. This is getting kind of messy, tbh, but I think after all of that is done, your FS may distance themselves from their mother, and their mother would act cordially around you, but nothing more. I also feel that your mother's spouse would also get on her case for being so mean towards you; honestly, it seems like even your FS's extended family members would like you; it's just their mother that has an issue. 😭

Pile 2
Both of your FS parents are really attached to your FS, so they may be overprotective of them. I do see that they'll like you a lot, and they're happy that their FS found someone! I see that your FS's mom would love to go clothes/grocery shopping with you because she likes to spend time with you. Your FS father wouldn't really spend time with you, but if the family were playing a game together, he'd make sure you're included. I think that there's a storm you and your FS's family would have to weather together, maybe a financial issue or a loss of a loved one. But I do see all of you coming out stronger and becoming closer because of it. Your FS's parents think you're extremely emotionally mature, more mature than your FS, and so they wonder sometimes how your FS even bagged you.
💀I think they believe in past lives, and so they really think that in your past life, you were a general of some sort, because you truly are like a leader to them, and they admire you for that. They might think you're deceptive, but you use it for good; such as in an emergency, you'd deceive someone if it meant saving another's life, for example. They like that you're aware of what you could do/what you're capable of but choose to use it for good instead of bad. Overall, I think they pray every night that your FS doesn't let you slip away; they like you that much!
