collab #3 // a real man
Jimin stood behind the keyboard, eyes watching the people passing by. Her hands were positioned right above the keys; ready to play anytime her friend is all prepped up. The amount of performances she’s done recently is increasing; probably because of her growing, and even cockier, confidence. Her gaze was focused on her friend, waiting for the guy to open the stage and let her start. Itch crawled all over her body –she needs to play, soon.
Without a moments hesitation, her fingers jumped around across the keyboard once he finished talking. Her hair was tied up making her face look even rounder and chubbier than usual, but at the same time her gaze looked softer yet firm. She cracked out the opening note, setting the overall mood of the song and releasing the latches that’s been keeping her friend’s rap at bay. "Oohh" Her fingers gently pressed on the white bars, holding them down and creating an ear pleasing harmony of sounds. She looked up at the crowd and smiled before letting her friend take the stage.
All the while, fingers poised above the keyboard, she kept on playing; occasionally making eye contact with her friend. Soft tunes; ad-lips escaped from her lips every once in a while as part of the song. She was enjoying it –the performance.
She smiled in between verses and let her vocals take over the stage for a few seconds. Raising one of her hands on the 5 second interval, she grinned. Hands back on the keyboard, she glanced at her friend making eye contact once again. Again, his rap filled the place as her eyes remained set on the crowd. Still, she remained playing the keyboard and ad-libbing.
The shine in her eyes brightened for who knows the how maniegyu time that day. “Everyone clap along!” She threw a playful thumbs up at the crowd as she played. Her voice didn’t waver at all; it remained steady the whole song. The chorus was now programmed inside her, takes no more than a second for her to boot up and start singing.
Confidence oozed out if we voice as she belted the chorus. Singing is life and songs are her oxygen. Her lips keep on being pulled apart to let the voice flow out of her lungs and into an intangible mess of sounds and voices. She didn’t even bother recalling the next lyrics, it has all been drummed in. Hair barely touching her neck, the wind tickled her nape as her fingers trailed down the keyboard.
At the sound of the crowd’s clap, her face beamed. “Thank you for coming everyone! Hope you liked our little show there.” She bowed and waved, thanking everyone for coming. “You did great.” She tapped the boy’s back and curled her fingers to form a fist; she bumped it onto his. Though it wasn’t a big scaled or serious performance at all, it felt good to entertain people and make them happier, even it in the least bit. That aside, if feels good to have fun, especially with a friend around. “Seok,” she whispered, “we should do this again some other time.”
