'Percy Jackson should realistically be a poc and Pjo fans of color are allowed to take him as one through death of the author,especially since the actual author approves of depictions of Percy as nonwhite' and 'Disregarding the multiple canonized poc by the Pjo show is actual whitewashing while the casting for Percy in it is a non-issue,especially since the Percy in the show is the only adaption accurate to Percy in the books so far and in some ways better written too' are two ideas that can,should and do co-exist

Likewise,so are 'a lot of ~Percy of color~ content mischaracterized Percy so he'd fit into negative stereotypes of the races/heritages he was a part of rather than positive and inside joke ones he's applicable to canonically and ones he full-on defies and he was also made incredibly obsessed with white men who treat him,women and other poc poorly while disregarding and even hating the minorities in question' and 'the live action series is actively conscious Percy's a white boy surrounded by poc of different genders and puts a lot of tact into it and how he interacts with them and their shared worlds so he'll be a good protagonist and encourage and normalize white kids standing up for and by their friends of color,which is an incredibly important thing to teach neurodivergent children since one of the most common traumas for nd kids of color is shitty white nd kids pretending to be their friends but treating them in ableist and other toxic ways and playing the victim when/if they put their foot down on it'

Percy Jackson fanfic part three (Percy has his tv show appearance instead of book)

2 weeks later…

Willow’s POV:

Percy and I had been hiding our relationship. Pretty easy. We’d pretend to be just friends in public but then we would be a couple back in his cabin. Simple. The thrill was fun but so was being with him again. I missed him. I wrote in my diary then shut it, and put music on my phone then turned on my headphones and connected them.

I put on Taylor swift. A playlist of love songs specifically ones that connected to me and Percy’s relationship.

Everyone else at my table kept talking and I started daydreaming scenarios about me and Percy relating to the songs. Everyone suddenly gasped and stopped talking while “Willow” by Taylor swift was playing. I still day dreamed not noticing.

A blinding golden light and projecting a glowing symbol—a golden sun with 21 ray-like arrows appeared above my head.

Someone tapped me and I said “holy shit” being scared and snapped back into reality.

“Holy sheet I mean holy sheet” I said still not noticing the symbol.

“Willow! Above your head!” A girl named Emma from the Aphrodite table said

I looked up and saw the Apollo symbol. “What does that mean?”

“It means Apollo claimed you as his child” Percy said softly.

“REALLY? YAYYYYYYYYYY” I said getting up and doing cartwheels.

“Oh. She really went there” someone from the Hermes cabin said laughing.

I ran over to Percy and hugged him.

He chuckled while hugging me back tightly.

Every person at the Aphrodite table started giggling while we hugged.

(Yall don’t judge my music taste and also Mr. Brightside is such a good song and it just reminds me of a child of Apollo.)

(And obvi Willow is the song she was listening to so I had too put it up yes I listen to pop and punk.)
