Freezing. That was the one word that ran through Holden's mind as he made his way down the busy street. He needed warmth, no he craved it. These cold autumn days were the reason why Holden hardly ever left his estate to begin with. Though, he had been yearning for a scolding hot cup of coffee and that's just where his feet were taking him. Clad in one of his warmest, and probably most expensive, coats-- Holden continued his venture toward his usual coffee shop, hands shoved in the coat's pockets to keep them as warm as possible. But then a sudden impact took him off guard. Of course he hadn't been watching where was going. He had been too distracted by the piercing cold winds that just wouldn't let up, he hadn't even noticed where he was headed until he had bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry I--" But just then, Holden paused mid-sentence. From what he had observed, the shorter man looked like a mess. Definitely not as well put together as he was, of course but he couldn't help but wonder-- Was this man homeless?
It was especially hard for him to imagine a life without the comfort of his own home. He was safe there-- It was the place Holden knew he could go if he were in danger or just to get away from the bustling life outside. But he hardly leaves his home much to begin with, so the thought of living without one was almost unfathomable. Holden then lifts both of his hands to re-situate the collar of his coat, releasing a sigh and a nod of his head as an apology. Finally gathering is words as he spoke again.
"I'm sorry I didn't-- uh, see you there. Are you alright?"
